Lou's link didn't work?

That's no good.

In honour and appreciation of zazenducke's recent short visit, I would like to play

which has some lovely oozy sounds near the end that can still be heard through youtube's crappy sound system.

I don't think that smoking pot and watching that would be a sane thing to do.

Here are the words to.....

Miss Shapiro

All the Peasants in the Squares
At Their Tables and Their Chairs
Set to Salvage Certain Numbers
From the Wonder of the Tundra
And the Muses in the Gloom
Counting Needles in Their Rooms
On the Carpet in the Corner
In a Kind of Secret Slumber
While the in Formation Rain
Slashed the Dirty Window Pane to the Square.

Smoky Broads and Smoky Windows in the Square
Come Come Charmer Come On Over For the Day
Disappearing Cocoa Forests Flash and Die
Fortunes Crumble All Demolished in the Bay.

Over Forty Pointed People
In the Perfect Pointed Steeple
Looked to See the Lucky Number
Yes the Wonder of the Tundra
Had Come Up to Fame and Fortune
Singing His Tune, My Tune, Your Tune
Wooing Daughters of the Gifted
On the Carpets of the Courtrooms
While the Tickets Were Expensive
The Show Was Quite Relentless in the Square.

Smoky Broads and Smoky Windows in the Square
Come Come Charmer Come On Over For the Day
Disappearing Cocoa Forests Flash and Die
Fortunes Crumble All Demolished in the Bay

Dalai Llama Lama Puss Puss
Stella Marls Missa Nobis
Miss a Dinner Miss Shapiro
Shampoos Pot-pot Pinkies Pampered
Movement Hampered Like At Christmas
Ha-ha Isn't Life a Circus
Round in Circles Like the Archers
Always Stiff Or Always Starchy
Yes It's Happening and It's Fattening
And It's All That We Can Get Into the Show.

Smoky Broads and Smoky Windows in the Square
Come Come Charmer Come On Over For the Day
Disappearing Cocoa Forests Flash and Die
Fortunes Crumble All Demolished in the Bay

Love 'em or hate 'em U2 can bring it when it comes to emotion. This concert, live at Slane Castle, to me is one of the most impressive concerts I know. This is the highlight of it for me.

Seldom.

Great clip. Happiness is a young Bono, he was, shall we say, very easy on the eyes....

I found Larry Mullen's bit very interesting as well. I think he was at his best with Eno and Lanois on board. The song "Bad" was made by his drumming.

However, I find it very hard to watch clips of bands talking. They all sound way too serious and way too "spinal tappy" for me. At any minute I just expect someone to burst into the vomit sequence from Spinal Tap.

Marty: What happened to Stumpy Joe?
Derek: Well, uh, it's not a very pleasant story..but, uh,
David: He's passed on.
Derek: he died. uh...he choked on..the ac- the official explanation was he choked on vomit.
Nigel: It was actually, was actually someone else's vomit.
It's not....
David: It's ugly.
Nigel: You know. There's no real....
Derek: You know they can't prove whose vomit it was...they don't have the facilities at Scotland Yard....
David: You can't print, there's no way to print a spectra-photograph
Nigel: You can't really dust for vomit.

Seldom.

Been a long time since I've seen a pedal guitar.
I grew up on Hank Snow, Hank Williams,Sr., Eddy Arnold (never cared for him) Marty Robbins, Stonewall Jackson, The Louvin Brothers and many, many more. I also was into Brook Benton, Jackie Wilson, Elvis, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis (he married his 14 year old cousin).....

On Friday nights tons of musicians would gather at our house and play up into the night. Some people would be playing "Pitch" and the kids would run in and out of the house..Cake was served by my mother.

Good times!
