rehab for self injury? severe mental illness

Posted by dondon on November 25, 2008, at 11:51:07

Is there any rehab centers for people who are injured due to drug overdoses? I tried to kill myself by taking several bottles of cough syrup.
I was seriously injured(liver, kidney, pancreas damage) My stomach and bowels are messed up as well.

Hi,
I've never heard of anything specifically like this, but I found some leads by googling "suicide attempt survivor".

This group looks like it addresses needs of suicide survivors. Here's their page for attempt survivors.

Maybe they could help. I see several of the major mental health support groups listed that may also be able to help.

So sorry.

What country do you live in? (If you feel like saying).

I imagine different countries & even different provinces/states/regions offer different things.

I'd suggest getting in touch with your local equivalent of Mental Health Association. You should be able to find that info through your nearest hospital. They also might be able to tell you what resources there are for someone in your situation. Depending on the country, some hospitals have support groups, or at the very least, counsellors, some of whom are quite good.

I hope you will view us here as supports for you.

I'm glad you're here with us. Sorry for all your health probems.

luv, Kath
