I saw most of the beginning, I would love to be there. Somehow if it comes to Chicago, I want a ticket to something, I don't care what, I just want to be a part of it.

Although interesting, I didn't like all the talk of politics, etc. by the guys on TV. I thought we were supposed to leave that behind and unite as athletes or friends or something for the olympics...oh well.
oh, and i got really upset at how much money they spent on everything! Isn't there something better that could be done with that.
My favorite part was watching the athletes walking in...i had to leave shortly after USA for bed, though.
Sorry...i guess i like to complain.

About 4 Olympics ago I saw the diving and the gymnastics and have meant to repeat the experience. But the hype about the Sydney opening ceremony did me in and I've never seen anything since. I'd be able to bear it more easily if they would stop mentioning all those countries, Kyrghizstan and the axis of evil excepted.

I meant to move the posts about politics to Politics, but somehow managed to remove them.
I'm going to contact Dr. Bob to ask him to restore them and move them to Politics.
In the meantime, please direct all political discussions to Politics, even if you need to start a new thread. That board was created for that purpose.
With the election coming up, I'm going to have to ask everyone to remember that.

The only thing that bothers me is that my post which I started had absolutely nothing to do with politics. It was just about the opening show, the beauty of the performance. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I didn't see the opening ceremonies, but I'm enjoying the Gymnastics. I'd like to have time to watch the Equestrian events as well, but I'm not sure I can squeeze in that much Olympics.

Just the preliminaries of Gymnastics. I'm not sure about Diving. Just Gymnastics is overwhelming to me. :)
I'd tell you the schedule, but with the time difference my explanation would be useless. If you go to the website of whoever is supplying your coverage, you should be able to find a schedule that works for you.
