Whoops! I did it for the first time!

Posted by fayeroe on August 6, 2008, at 12:59:29

I had my first "at fault" wreck at noon. I was coming out of a parking lot onto the highway and a short-bed truck started turning right into the lane I was in. I honked and waved and he seemed to speed up..I started backing up slowly and the lady behind me wasn't aware of the dilemna and she said she pulled forward and we MET.....

Only broke her headlight so that was good. No one hurt and the man in the truck was pulling a 5th wheel trailer (which made him longer than a semi) pulled in and when we tried to talk to him, he rolled his window back up and would not get out. We both wanted to ask him why he kept turning and ignored the line of traffic.....He took the cowardly way out. We wouldn't have achieved anything by talking to him but we were both very upset with the way the wreck happened.

I gave her my insurance information and came home.

And the reason that I went to that store? To pick up a small frozen pizza (garlic crust/vegetarian) and they didn't have it in.....:-)

Today so far:

1. Lockdown at prison
2. Major headache
3. No veggie pizza (a huge treat because we had lockdown and I have a headache)
4. Wreck

I go back to prison at 2:00 p.m.

p.s. some of my favourite students are leaving us on Friday and I am very proud of them for making parole.....send good vibes to those men and women!!!

Well, I made it through the day!

Two offenders pointed out to me that if I had stayed where I was and the bigger truck had hit me undoubtedly we both would have been hurt. My truck would have slammed into the front of her car and his truck would have slammed me. He was so close to me when he pulled around that he knockd my side mirror back.

Thanks for the vibes for the offenders.

We had a very good computer class and count didn't get screwed up so we weren't in lockdown again. :-)

I found out today that an insurance company in Texas will go after a driver who causes an accident that their insured is involved in.

The truck driver's actions caused me to hit the other automotible and had I taken his license number down when we had the wreck, they could have run it and identified him.............so, rubbing hands together..... he was carrying a load of livestock feed and I traced it to the store where he purchased it and now we know who the "gentleman" is......

Always write down everything when you're involved in a wreck..if you aren't injured....Pat
