Eggplant clues needed

Posted by fayeroe on August 3, 2008, at 13:07:10

I have never been a big fan of eggplant due to the fact that I probably never tried it prepared right.

I thought that it was always picked and prepared when it was firm.

My neighbor just brought me three very squishy ones.......

The reason that I think they are supposed to be firm is remembering one time my ex and I were in a "dinner club" and we made a Greek dish with eggplant AND no one would take the chance on it because it was "foreign".....Remember that this was Rotten, America. (Lawton, Oklahoma)

So, do they stay or do they go?

I do 'em as in eggplant parm. Firmness to slice the plant, I find, is necessary for that.

Unsure how unfirm works unless you want a smoothie ; )

They aren't sliceable....:-)

Hmmmmmmmm. I do tofu and yoghurt smoothies almost every day. I add juices, fruit and flax meal. Do you think that squished eggplant would enhance those ingredients? lots of giggles here. in "message board" talk, I guess that would be LOGH....

Giggles are good, *IMO*

Sorry about your unusable eggplant - maybe someone else can come up with something.

Yep, well, at least their purplely selves would become useful in their last days... from dirt to dirt.
