I don't remember fer sure....but I think it was because I heard that somebody I regularly dealt with elsewhere had been blocked here, again......suggesting that the wild west of the Internet had a civilized node.....

I've been saying I've been here since 2002, but apparently I'm just a big fat liar because I just googled it and it was 2003. I think I lurked about a year before I actually posted though, so that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it. I stumbled across babble by googling to find out if anyone else in the world was having these 'strange side effects' from Topamax.

Of course, if you know me you know I can't remember names worth a crap, but the one person I remember from way back then was PartlyCloudy. I was going through some hard times (imagine that!) and she said something that made me feel so much better I printed it out and hung it on the refrigerator door.

My first PBC was when there was this guy who was bashing all meds and making everyone mad, and I broke in and said, "Aww, come on, admit it. You're secretly Tom Cruise, right?" (this was in his more notorious couch jumping days). The guy actually thought it was pretty funny but I could see how if I could get away with that, then someone would go just a little bit further and just a little bit further and so on. So I apologized to the dude for accusing him of being Tom Cruise because, we "wouldn't want any one to feel put down".

well, I can't even spell google...yiks!
No sooner did I arrive at PB (mind you this was my very first website) but I became party to an emotional conflict. Many a night I cried over that conflict...my partner got pretty worried.
I did meet some awesome people: KK, Gabbi, cloudy skys, Emmey, Gardenergirl, Tabitha, Slinky (hey they are all girls!)then there was Poet, CheshireCat, JamesK (okay I have to add LarryHoover)...just to mention a few.
I can't find my first post...how do you do that?
looks like 2004 but I wonder if it was 2003.

Now I feel better about resuming my old name :-)

I found babble in 2003 while googling the horrible start up effects of Effexor. Haven't stopped posting since, apart from a few forced and self imposed vacations - or exiles, if you will. Tried the rest, came back for the best. Undoubtedly.

PartlyCloudy

Who started out as RainyDay, then became PartlyCloudy, then ClearSkies, then ScratchPad (don't ask!), back to ClearSkies, and now I'm back to PC. That one seems to fit me best, my disposition and outlook. Sometimes the sun shines, and sometimes the clouds obscure it. That's me.

(And thank you, TexasChic.)

Hey Dinah,

I'm doing OK. Haven't been in therapy for more than a year now (after 5 years) and I have my good days and bad days. My anxiety seems to be ratcheting up as of late and I'm really trying hard with all of my CBT to make sure it doesn't get out of control.

Anyway, I lurk here. I just feel like I never have much to contribute for some reason.

Just being you is contribution enough.

It's always good to hear that people can bring the skills they learned in therapy to their real life. Especially real life that brings enough stress to ratchet up anxiety.
