oh, how i miss the stories we used to share (not to mention (motherfing topamax!!!) what was that contest, between the therapists? with big, bean, bubba, mister bob, and i can only imagine who else i'm leaving out...

You are a mind reader!! I was going to start a thread on exactly the same topic!
I found it sometime in 2001 myself, when googling one of my meds. I was having trouble with them.
I stayed because of the people. Slinky and Mair and Pax and Willow and Mouse and Bobby. Krazy Kat, who if I remember correctly, shared my liking of hiding in the closet. Noa, who I thought was the very epitome of wisdom. Then those old Yahoo chats. I got to know a handful of people in such depth. The very best friend I have in the world, I made in those chats.
I don't think I've ever laughed so hard as the mango thread, although that came later I think.
I rather suspect though that I would have eventually moved on despite the wonderful people, if it weren't for the therapy talk. I think first it was Mair and Cynthia? I could be remembering that wrong. But they were talking about their difficulties in negotiating the therapeutic relationship. I was hooked for good.

I was thinking of entering a clinical trial on rTMS and found Babble when I searched that term. I read for many months before I signed up. Babble was very confusing to me at first.

It was Christmas week of 1999. I was trying to date this college professor who, as they say nowadays, "just wasn't that into me". So I was alone all week while he was visiting family. I was probably googling (did google even exist then?) stuff on depression and found the meds page. I just lurked. I think I registered, but I lost my ID. For some reason started posting in 2001 as "Tabitha" which was my first cat's name. Can't even remember what was going on with me then. Oh yeah, I was probably lonely & struggling with depression. Hmmm kinda sounds like now.

Whew.................man. 2003, i was on google looking up stuff, it was about Adderall. Some people here said intresting, bad things about it. I joined. Really i'll have to look up the first thing i ever posted to see what i was asking about, 8/?./2003.
many loopholes, and wormholes, its hard to just rerember the first day, or first time. For anything......
Came here, started seeking for info, then for life advice, then everything else....

Oddly enough I was looking for verification that my chosen method of suicide would work. I didn't find that, but I found babble instead in 2003.

I think you all know how I got here,so far I`ve loved every minute of it,everyone is so kind and helpful with their wisdom on how to cope with the torments of the mind.
I just wish Slinky had told me of this site, who knows,knowing what I know now,perhaps it may have given me more of a deeper insight as to her feelings and I may have been able to stop her doing what she did.Dave(Slinky`s old man)

i lived in oklahoma and couldn't find any resources for withdrawal from effexorXR....my doctor was angry because i wasn't that enamoured with his skills and wouldn't help me. my pharamcist helped me taper...(i wasn't eating very often. lost 38 lbs. i'm 5' tall)
i googled "effexorXR withdrawl" and among other sites, i find Babble....

I was fresh out of the bin in 2000. While looking for med info on the net, I stumbled upon our beloved Babble. Just lurked for a while. Then on that fateful day in early 01 I decided to register....Since then I have met some truly amazing "crazies" here.(I say that with love)

I don't remember fer sure....but I think it was because I heard that somebody I regularly dealt with elsewhere had been blocked here, again......suggesting that the wild west of the Internet had a civilized node.....
