I tried to grow one of these but it died on me.

Wow, I have never seen the first one, you must be in a warmer climate. I am in zone 5, so those kinda plants have to be grown indoors.

They are probably more like the plants you would see in South America (I assume you live in North America).
South America used to be joined to Australia once, which may be why they have the odd marsupial there. (If they do, I'm not sure.)

The flowers and kittens are great be careful of those possums they bite and a lot have rabies. So I've been told. Love Phillipa
