As some of you may know I crossdress,I`m not ashamed of it, and I don`t hide it, I am very open about it, at the same time I don`t push into peoples faces.
Everyone that knows me knows about it.Its not something I do full time, its when ever the mood happens.I met Slinky through a dating agency,it was she that noticed me from my profile as I was honest about myself and she loved it.
Whats your veiws on crossdressing,whether it be male to female or female to male.
Is it something you would accept that people like me do, are there any other crossdressers here.
If anyone would like to see what I look like, go into youtube, in search type friday night project,then in search type rupert everett,then scroll down look for series 5 show 8 part 4,
you will see me asking a question, I`m introduced as Dave Alcock,it`s a good laugh.
So come on let me here your thoughts about what I and 100`s & 1000`s of others like me do.

Women have long been dressing in pants, tuxedos, boxers, cutting their hair short, etc. The day when it would cause disapprobation or swooning is long over.
So I don't really see the big deal about vice versa. Since I detest bras, pantyhose, high heels, and other implements of torture, it's always surprising to me personally that women or men would wear them willingly. But if they choose to, they must not find it as torturous as I do.
Part of the upside of today's society is choice.
Just my opinion. I don't much care what people do as long as it doesn't hurt others, or themselves either I suppose.

I pretty-well echo Dinah's comments.
I know lots of people do it. I'm not drawn to it or interested in it. What people do is their thing as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.

I like to put on a tight neoprene suit and hang with other rubber suit wearers when I go scuba diving which isn't that dissimilar to what you do on a Saturday night Dave. And then I love my dogs and I go to the dog park and hang with other canine lovers who stand around and watch their dogs play. My wife thinks I'm nuts sometimes for who I hang around with. That's why I don't talk about Babble that much.

There was a bloke around here who reckoned that the solution to everything (all mental problems) was to wear a wedding dress anywhere (shopping at Woolworths, the pub on a Saturday night). He was very persuasive, but I never tried it myself, having no wedding dress and being the retiring type.

if it's part of who you are then go for it. Just don't forget to shave before you go out. I'v seen too many drag shows where the stubble is showing through the make up, That's if you wear make up, or even do drag shows, not that many cross dressers do.

I work with a lady whose husband wears a kilt once a week or so. Knee socks, shoes with a buckle. Welcome to Austin.
I say if a man has good legs then I encourage cross dressing. You can never have too many good legs in the world.

great response, Toph. Dave, you may already know that we are very loosey goosey and accepting. I was a Sikh and men wear Kirtans...dresses. they also wear turbans...many people might have been wierded out by that. Hey aren't we all naked under our clothes anyway.

Dave, you are not hurting anybody, nor yourself, so I say just enjoy what you do! Most of all, love yourself, and celebrate all parts of who you are. I am very glad to see you are getting good support on here. I think many of us can relate as being people who maybe deviate a bit from societal norms! Just Be Yourself.

When my friend got married her fiance wore a kilt. There was another dude in a kilt that played that bagpipes. I thought it was pretty freaking cool. BTW, Phillipa, I've been told its traditional not to wear anything under the kilt, but that could be wrong.
Oh, and I would LOVE to go to a drag show!

Maybe it's because I am a New Orleanian, but I really don't see it as a very big deal. We're pretty "whatever" here. At the workplace it might be an issue, depending on the workplace.
But I confess I don't understand the concept behind a show. If one wishes to wear women's clothes why does one need a show to do it? If the purpose is to be considered normal and acceptable, wouldn't one just go about one's day dressed in women's clothing?
I could understand fashion shows, of course. To showcase new and exciting women's clothing in men's sizes. In whatever way men's sizes differ from women's. I'm no expert there.
I'm certainly not saying there's anything wrong with it. I attend dog shows when I could just be out at the park walking my dog. I suppose I'm just missing the point.

I was so sure you were going to apologize for comparing a drag show to a dog show! ROTFL!!! But seriously, I didn't think you said anything wrong.
To me, what would be cool about a drag show, is I've just heard how amazing and beautiful the models can be. I'd love to see that transformation. But I'm really into makeup and hair, although I spend very little time on my own. Plus its always fun to hang out with open minded people, I always feel more comfortable with them.
