Another computer problem.....

Posted by Quintal on April 21, 2008, at 18:57:35

Right now I'm so low I can hardly be botherd to type. I've been trying for hours to download songs onto my MP3 (Sony) player, which uses Windows Media Player 11. Windows media player finally let me download tracks, but it won't let me play them or transfer them no matter what I do. I keep getting a message to say I need to upgrade a windows component to play the content, but when it tries to connect I keep getting the message "The Windows Media server is denying access. The username and/or password might be incorrect."

And that's it.

So now I've wasted quite a lot of money downloading tracks that I neither play nor use in any way. I'm stunned to learn that I'd have to pay £46 for a simple email query to Microsoft... do they not make enough money as it is?!!!! I managed to get an error code "C00D2EFB" which has no asociated techincal support pages. Nothing, nada, zip. I'm at a complete dead end and sooooooo frustrated. I need to go an puch something. Perhaps picture of Bill Gates' head.

I feel your pain. I bought a Shuffle, and after several time consuming updates, I find that I have to pay for the final update ($100+), all just to set up the thing!!!!! I haven't even gotten to downloads yet!!!! I LOVE my Mac, but I may have to find a pic of Steve Jobs to punch myself! !@#$%

Info I googled. There's an answer there somewhere.

Thank you all who replied. It's good to know that others share my pain. I think it's about $92 for Microsoft to answer a simple email query. I looked on Google, but it's just page after page of people starting threads on this topic and not getting any answers. At least this one made me smile. I too have wondered if it's all just a Microsoft conspiracy to make more money.

I just can't be bothered any more, but this means I can't use my mp3 player any more. I'm so sick of it.
