Well, cognitive is definitely close to the word that's on the tip of my tongue, but I think it's another word.(?)

I think it is 'rational' intelligence!
Have you ever been confused about how to handle a situation, and someone walks up, and as easy as pie, says, 'Well you just do this, this, and this'.
You feel like smackin' yourself on the forehead and think 'Why didn't I think of that?'
I don't think it is because we are lazy.
Maybe our brains can become lazy.(?)
I've been getting into positions which call for action and I think everything around and about the issue; can't see what's right before my eyes!
I miss having, or having with me, someone who has this 'well you just do this' ability (rational thinking).
Forgive pls for my disappearing.
The reason for it is, I'm pretty sure I've never, ever, been more nervous, and, yes, (Jeez, I really hate the D word!) more depressed :( ... as I am now.

FF, It is rational intelligence I just heard a presentation by a neuroscientist that specializes in how the brain is design and d*amn if can't spell the word. Thin k topamax stupid. Anyway she was describing the two sides of the brain and what they do and how they are organized for thought. Emotional and rational intelligence is how she summed it up.
