Hi Kath,
I mostly hang out at the Psychology board since I joined about two months ago now. Have discovered this Social board and, in reading the Archives, have read a few posts about your son situation. Not easy for a parent to worry so much, though it sounds like things may just be turning around for him in BC there.
Anyway, I am a fellow Cdn too! Yes, here's hoping the New Year brings good and better things to all here on Babble.

Hi Lovelorn,
He's actually here in Ontario now. Was in hosp in BC but came back late last January.
He's doing SO much better it's amazing.
This past June, he'd sorta bottomed out; really messed up with cocaine. But stopped in July, spent the summer with hubby & I. In Sept, got a place sharing with other fellows (3 or them are responsible adults). He now has a part-time job AND a girlfriend - nothing serious & she (like him) loves to drink alot. I'm a bit edgy as to did he survive New Year's Eve without doing cocaine! Deep breaths Kath!
Do you feel like saying which province you live in? I'm in Ontario north of Toronto & BOY do we have a lot of snow! It started so early this season, in November.
Do you think you'll be coming to the Social Board much?

Hi again Kath,
Well, hopefully the 3 roommates will rub-off on him a little in terms of responsibility. Sounds like he is slowly getting on his feet. Addiction - any kind - is a devil to handle and I wish him and your family luck in getting through it.
I'm in QC. And yes, we sure have got a lot of snow since November too.
I just may post from time to time on Social. We'll see.
