I clicked on your post because I thought you'd posted that to frighten me. I thought it would be another ginormous spider, and would involve hearing someone beat it with a bat...

Interesting. Truly amazing, that after all this time, we still manage to find new species. Kinda reminds us that we're not truly lords (and ladies) of *all* we survey...

I thought they might. Drat.

ROFL! I think it would take more than a broom or bat to deal with that one. Imagine how loud. I could probably hear it from upstairs in the neighbor's house! I'd definitely need a glass of wine or three.

(Note, no animals were harmed in the making of this anecdote or post.)

Rodents of Unusual Size » Phillipa

R.O.U.S.s are "rodents of unusual size" from "The Princess Bride". They were one of the three dangers of the "fire swamp", and Westley told Buttercup that he didn't believe they existed after they had escaped the other two (lightning sand and flame spurt).

The link talks about a new species found, a rat that's five times larger than usual, thus, a rodent of unusual size. ;)

It's not that bad . . . well, I'm not saying I'd like to build a summer home here, but the trees are actually quite lovely...

These animals have always reminded me of the ROUSs, although they are neither rodents nor of a particularly unusual size.

Seldom.

On my Christmas list?

A marsupial of unusually small size, eh?

I think a pocket possum would be wonderful to have....

Phillipa - it's a binturong

and it's from southeast asia. It's not a marsupial.

I'm not sure if your husband would want one if he got to smell one. They really stink - like sweaty gym socks.
