Getting ready to camp at Killbear next week.

Posted by Kath on June 17, 2007, at 17:58:44

Am leaving Thursday or Friday. It depends on how ready I am!

I'm aiming for Thursday.

My dear hubby bought me a mini-camcorder!! He just gave me this bag for no reason & it was a cc. A got all tears in my eyes! What a nice thing to do! I've been taking movies with my digital camera, so he thought I should be able to do it properly.

On our week at the Bruce Penninsula I used my digital camera to film a bumblebee going from flower to flower; dragonflies; the shore of Georgian Bay (a huge huge bay on Lake Huron).

Last year at Killbear (near Parry Sound, northern Ontario) I filmed a snake; deer; a mink.

I really enjoy filming!

Kath, could you make a movie of some chipmunks? There aren't any down here and I miss them! (Just kidding, enjoy your new toy and your week away!)

Yo Phillipa,

I got the email! And I wonder if I can download movies somewhere for y'all to watch.

I'm reading a book (light one) which takes place in Carolina - hence the "y'all".

I'll be here at least tomorrow & try to check in on Wed also.

much love, Kath

How about raccoons!!!

I found a dead one in a Raku kiln I had outside. The kiln is made from a metal drum. The poor thing died in it. I feel awful. MAN DOES IT SMELL!!!!

Kath
PS - last year, I made a movie on my digital camera of a MINK!!! I followed it along the rocks; it knew I was there; it would stop & I'd catch up. It even turned & looked at me!!

Is it by Nicolas Sparks as he writes of Carolina. I don't say y'all born and bred Yankee Fairfield County Connecticut. Love Phillipa

That would be grand! Our wildlife consists mostly of possums (um, lifeless by the side of the road), and armadillos. You see lots of little lizards too but they move way too quickly to be caught on camera.
I hope you have a lovely time.
