(I hope Dr. Bob doesn't mind this thread)...a website with all the bells and whistles. You can have an avatar, share pictures, sigs, you can hyperlink pics, have your own little space to share music, art, videos...anything..all in nice high quality HTML and such? I am just taking a poll. This is not a 'political' thing against Bob, just something really different and fresh. This will not be like that time I tried to start up a dumb little website, which was a freebie site with advertisements and all that. Nothing like that. Let me know pweeeeeeesee :)

To be prefectly honest, i like the simpleness and clarity of babbleland. No fancy text etc etc. I feel it makes it much much easier to read and understand and also, it acts to make everyone more equal somehow. You know, there's no pressure to have a fancy avatar or signiture or things like that.
I've tried fancier boards, but always end up back on babble. Perhaps I'm just a weirdo.

>The advertisements were not the problem with your last site as I remember it. A poster running wild and others, named as moderators, attempting to clean up some really disturbing stuff going on. Jay, I wish you more luck this time, if you decide to go forth. If you decide to take this on, please think about the attention and responsibility such an undertaking takes - folks can be unpredictable and others, fragile.

Jay, i admire your initiative, but i remember all of the problems at the other site.
i was a moderator and spent Easter and Mother's Day trying to keep obsenities and threats off and was later threatened in my e.mail by the poster who ran amuck.
in fact, one other poster here and i spent our holidays that year trying to cope with her. we couldn't find you and didn't hear from you for months.
it's too much to take on, unless you've got all your ducks in a row. xoxoxo pat

The nice thing about psychobabble is that people come here because because they want to chat.
Where it turns into a dating site no one is prepared to talk any more without a photo.
Still, on Second Life you can make all this money out of virtual real estate, and pay money to dress up really ugly, spread messages of cultural dismay and generally agitate, so I've read.

Well...I guess the consensus is 'no'. I understand what you have all said. I just felt a bit better and am financially better-off that I could do this.(Knock on wood..heh.) I just love all of the neat bells and whistles...and making it more of a 'peoples' community.
