Yes you can make a lot of money on EBay, buy items cheep off EBay and resell them at a profit.

I considered this.

I have a friend in England who buys antiques at auctions & resells them. She makes some money but definitely not BIG $.

There was a story about a man selling a red paper clip on EBAY & he actually traded things, starting with a red paper clip.

He kept trading & trading & finally ended up with a HOUSE in Saskatchewan, in Canada. This is a TRUE story. You can probably find it on Google looking up EBAY red paper clip!!!

PS - if you find out any more about $ & EBAY, pl let me know.

Kath will do as Greg has a book on EBAY and seriously that girl's friend is making $l75.000 a year and quit her other job. There is supposed to be a middleman that you get hot not stolen popular best sellers from he profits and then you resell again on EBAY for a lot more. Love Phillipa another theory but not for big money is buying high dollar store items when the price is marked down to practically nothing and reselling on EBAY . I think kids clothing is hot in that market and bridal gowns. There are lists of items and namebrands.

It's an unethical and illegal business. The vast majority of designer purses and clothing on eBay is fake.

It's real real hard to make a ton of money on eBay. But if you're smart, it can be very easy to make an extra $500 or thousand a month as a part time thing.

Hi Phillipa,

One of my friends has done well selling things. No way he can quit his day job, but he says it's easy to post the stuff on Ebay and he makes enough money to make it worthwhile. He mainly sells cameras and equipment and some antiques.

I have nothing worthwhile to sell. Though I always threaten the cats that I'm going to sell them on Ebay.

Michael that would help a great deal. I almost bought my new Rolex on EBAY. I got a good deal here though but wouldn't hesitate to buy one on EBAY as long as they use paypal. I have a lot of Weiland one of a kind jewelry gold from Hawaii I will never wear thinking of selling them. They were very expensive. As for antiques I have an original Thomas Minton Large Bowl or Planter from France. Family Heirloom might sell there too. Blue and white and large. No I wouldn't sell illegal things. Greg as bought and sold there and has a l00% rating. Love Phillipa

For those items, Phillipa, you'd want to research them on Ebay. See if the same or similar items are listed, and if so, what do they sell for? Sometimes what we think will be a hot item turns out to not be, and what we think would be a turkey brings in serious bucks.

And btw, Ebay is not illegal. Just to clarify Michael's statement.

Who would have thought something like this would be wanted by anyone. Going to hit the high dollar thrift shops in upscale Charlotte maybe even their trash. Love Phillipa

LOL I'm didn't mean to say Ebay is illegal. I've bought a lot of stuff there myself. I was addressing the people Phillipa mentioned. The ones who sell designer handbags and clothes.

The majority of it is bought from a site called Alibaba.com. Most of this is fake. Selling fakes of trademarked products is illegal, and that is what makes up the majority of eBay's clothing resellers.

I've looked at the clothing for sale on Ebay. I have not found knock-offs or fraudulent merchandise to comprise the "majority" of clothing for sale on Ebay. Perhaps it's specific categories where it is more likely to occur than others.

To all we have spent the day talking to owners of shops and neighbors and have three people who don't want to be bothered with getting involved so willing to split commisions with Greg. And the stuff is all old stuff that the owners of the shops have kept themselves and want to sell. One neighbor collected old trains and would love to have him sell with commisions to both. Also research shows good items that are selling. Another thing about clothes. I know a former babbler that made over $200 one day selling personal items she no longer wanted. There is still research to be done. But even our rich neighbors are now involved in internet investments one in currency where travelers borrow your money to travel the yield is much higher than banks. Interesting stuff. Love Phillipa ps Oh Kath you don't have to invest or keep stock.
