Link..

Can you call someone? It may have to be 911 if you aren't sleeping at all for days at a time.
Let us know if we can help.

Phil

Please keep posting. I'm sending you supportive thoughts (wish I was near you).

Sorry you are going through this.

Do you have a doctor you can call? or pdoc?

hugs Kath

wow, I too have not slept for days in the past. It's amazingly difficult, so Linkadge when will your body finally fall asleep?
I have succumbed to meds-Ambien-to finally get some shut eye. I know it's not great to be hooked on Ambien but well I think on a deep level I'm hooked on sleeping.
You may be sleeping as I post this, but if you are reading, well I am wishing you the best.
Jai

Nobody really cares. I called the health nurse of my psychiatrist and they told me to make an appointment. Yeah, by then I will have had a seizure.

I really don't care anymore.

Doctors here are benzophobic, and nothing else works.

I'm not the type of person who will do a lot of arm flailing if I dont't get attention, I just give up.

I will sit in total darkness for a month if I have to.

I got one night of sleep, and then I've had a subsequent two nights of total insomnia.

People are just tired of hearing me complain. I guess I just give up and suffer.

People become so sensitized to hearing it.

To be specific, I had 3 nights of total insomnia, then one night of sleep, and then 2 nights of total insomnia again.

I'm sorry it's like that L.

I wonder if there's an online support group specifically for people whose situation is like yours?

I wonder if that would help you to feel supported at least.

luv, Kath

Could it be med related? » linkadge

I know you were trying Lamictal, but planning to stop it? I wonder if this could be related?

The first time I tried Lamictal, I had an experience of total insomnia -- despite 4mg Xanax before bed! Since I couldn't get through to the doctor's office, and I was pretty well hysterical after the second night of racing thoughts and insomnia, I stopped EVERYTHING all at once.

I don't recommend it.

Unless you like shaking uncontrollably and vomiting into a bucket on the floor, because you couldn't get up to go anywhere else.

I hope things ease for you, Link. Have you tried any of the old standby solutions? Chamomile tea really does help me, sometimes. So does hot cocoa.

The best I've found, though, is lying on the sofa in front of the TV. I think because it engages my mind just enough that it interupts the racing thoughts. Might be worth try?

Good luck, Link. I hope it turns around soon.

That is a not so common side effect of Lamictal.
