Yes - I have found the time machine & it seems to be working QUITE well. :-)
You know how I decided to Heck with 60 - I'm going to be 58 from now on?
Well my sweetie husband woke me up this morning with "Hi Hun - happy 58th birthday!!!" :-))Trying to stay OK today.
Larry - If I'm feeling edgy my mindfulness today goes something like this:
Breathing in.....breathing out.......breathing in.......breathing out......I'm only 58 .........etc!:-))

Hubby & I are going out for Indian dinner.
We bought a 'new' car on Saturday so there's a part of me that's viewing that as my bday gift even though it's not!! LOL
It's a 2003 white Toyota Corolla with only 43,000 Kilometers on it. Don't know miles but that's pretty low mileage. It's about 2 years worth of the amount I put on my car & it was a good price. Saw it in the paper, went to see it & arranged to buy it! I said to hubby, almost like saying, 'hey, let's go out & buy a pair of shoes'.But we knew we needed one pretty-darned soon & decided to give my 'now' one (1997 Mazda) to our daughter. This one popped up & there ya go!
Anyway, it's made me so happy to have all these lovely BDay wishes.

PS - Son's GF is flying tonight (as she had said she would) back to Vancouver to visit her friends & bring back the rest of their belongings. And I am doing pretty well.....not even freaking.
Son, GF, their friend whose house they're staying at & I had lunch at the restaurant where the friend works. I swung the conversation to how long is she staying etc. She has no return ticket yet (NOT wonderful) - so I expressed my concerns & that they were mirrored by everyone who cares about her. I asked her could she commit to a certain day by which she'd buy her return ticket & she agreed to Thursday. We had a 4-person-across-the-table handshake about it & later when we left the friend hollered across the parking lot "THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!!!"
I know my son is quite concerned, but I think it's going to be OK. I made various comments & asked questions at various times & get the impression that she'll be OK. I think it's ridiculous, but what can you do? I didn't SAY that! LOL
Anyway, I think it's a reflection of me doing pretty well that I'm not all freaked about it.
I meet with son's care worker tomorrow...I called her for an appointment. I'm starting to come out of shock & am feeling some pretty intense feelings - among them, sadness, dismay, defeat etc. Each time I see my son, I realize that BOY, does he have a long way to go before he'll be anywhere NEAR being able to lead a normal life!! He's doing OK. He's doing excellently about not doing drugs, but he's frequently - well - sort of like 'not there' a lot of the time! Yikes. I am so glad that there's support for our family in this H.O.P.E. program (& that it's free!!)
Larry, thx for the info you sent me; I'm printing it to give to the case manager tomorrow morning; she & son are filling out his part of the forms tomorrow afternoon.
