They are like roasted peanuts in the shell w/o the shell. They're cheap and better than your ordinary peanut.

I love potato salad. Righteous munchies.

I love macadamia nuts IN cold pasta salads. Spanish peanuts are good in brownies and the like.
Hazelnuts have a lot going for them too. I also enjoy a good walnut every now and then, and don't get me started on pecans.
Chestnuts are good around the holidays.
But my favorite is the cashew. I could eat a bushel.

My lunch yesterday was a handful of nuts.

and that is not supposed to sound as sexual as it looks on the screen. Oh well. I'm not going to edit it.

Apparently this thread was started by someone who hates me personally. Well, I guess I just don't give a crap who hates me.

But I *would* like to have a better lunch today. I'm thinking.... PB and Jelly?

On a related note, what nut is best in chocolate cookies? I think it's a toss up between pecans and macadamias. Testicles are ill-suited to most recipes.

Any more non-sequitors?

I don't think it was from someone who hates you personally. I think it was a post by someone who was trying (and succeeded) in posting a perfect example of irony.

I'd repost the parts that were the most ironic, but I don't think it's allowed.

Hey verne,
I've known you for a couple years and always found your posts interesting. I've seen your temper before having provoked you a time or two in the past. I, too, have been disappointed in myself for some of the time and energy I've wasted here, but that was my choice, no one forces me to visit PB. The hippo comment was really meanspirited. I'd like to think that that was just your temper getting the best of you again. People here can be forgiving. Toph

Spanish peanuts are a specific variety of peanuts, also called "redskins," some places. They're very good, little ground nuts. With a distinct sort of flavor -- I think you'd like them. In fact, I think EVERYONE would like them...

Maybe we should start stocking up for BabbleFest 2007?

Peanut butter goes with NUTELLA! That is the appropriate pairing.

And pecans in the cookies, please. There's really not much to discuss on that one.

(Although I suppose it's not civil to suggest that there's only one path to Nirvana...)

Please don't post anything that could lead others to feel accused or put down. You've been asked to be civil before, so I am blocking you from posting. No one is blocked forever, btw, but I've asked Dr. Bob to determine the length.

Hey Verne,

I don't hate you. I don't hate anyone here. You sound upset, I hope you are well. Your post didn't upset me one bit, surprisingly. I guess I'm just used to being called a troll now. I have enough self esteem now to know that I'm not a troll and that's all that matters.

If you don't like my posts, you can avoid reading them. I'll try to remember to warn people about my Bob posts in the subject line. I know some people don't like my posts. I can't please everyone.

previous block: 3 weeks
period of time since previous block: 13 weeks
uncivil toward a particular individual or group: yes
particularly uncivil: no
different type of incivility: no
clearly didn't understand PBC and made effort to reply: no
provoked: no
uncivil in multiple posts at same time: no
already archived: no

If we take 13 weeks, divide by 10, and round down, that's a reduction of 1 week. If we apply that to your previous block, that's 3 - 1 = 2 weeks. And if we triple that, that's 6 weeks.

Bob

PS: Thanks, everyone, for keeping this thread civil.

Okay. peanut butter and nutella.

HOLD ON! [so excited!!-running to the kitchen!!]

[deflated]
oh. my roommate took her nutella with her when she moved out for the semester. darn.

I'm eating a giant farmers market peach for breakfast then. It probably weighs a pound.

trivia fact- peaches are related to almonds. Some varieties still have some cyanide in their pits. mmm- bitter almond flavor

S'OK. I'll babblemail you some of mine. I get it at Costco, so I've got some extra...

One of my Hungarian recipes is for peach-champagne soup, which involves crushing the seeds. I've never had the courage to try it, though, because I'm afraid it's a way to poison people...

I make sour cherry soup, though, sometimes...

Hmm nuts and length on the same thread.

This is getting spicy!

Racer, get the nutella handy, and where's some Spanish peanuts when you need 'em?

do the skins get stuck in your teeth? I have a terrible time with wheat germ, popcorn and such.

I'm so raunchy, except when I'm not.

I just invented a new cocktail

Red Kool-aid with a packet of Emergen-C powder.

It's fantastic. Let me know if you try it sometime. It tastes like candy, and has a little fizz and vitamin C and B vitamins and seven mineral ascorbates. Sounds like a good chaser to a lengthy nutella covered spanish peanut. (ugh. lurp. why did you write that filth?. damn)
