Can I get a Heck-yayah

Posted by Glydin on August 30, 2006, at 21:35:40

or even a few: "Keep it up...'s"

For three months now I've been going to the gym 3-5 times a week. My motivation is waning a bit and I find myself getting excuses - so far I'm NOT giving into them, but.... I could use a little encouragement...

Yes, this belongs on Health but, dang, it's echoy over there at times.

Any words?

Glydin- you ROCK!!!!

yeah- I bet you're feeling a lot stronger and fitter with such regular and consistent work-outs. Three months is absolutely fantastic. It's the way to start a new habit to make it part of your life.

When you get bored, try taking a different class, or meeting friends there. You can even splurge and get a personal trainer for an hour, and help you set up some new goals for the next 12 weeks!

And the best part of all is that you DESERVE a reward! Spa pedicure? a new outfit? An iPOD?

((((movement))))

heck YAYAAAA!

that last part was screamed very quietly, 'cause I have a headache...

I needed that.

I just downloaded "Proud" by Heather Small for the iPod listen for tomorrow's lard battling. That: "What have you done today to make ya feel proud...?" is corny but somehow seems to motivate me a bit.

It does make me feel better to go and I have been grateful to have made a committment to myself and have kept it so far. That's almost more important than actually working out.

I've been working out at home with free weights (I'm too shell-shocked to get to a gym)-- and the last few days, my motivation has been zilch.

I've been doing really well until now. But suddenly-- it's so hard to find the time-- somehow.

So-- if you don't, I might follow you into complete decay.

So-- heck yeahyeah...(yeah,yeah,yeah, dumdumdum. The Beatles). Go, Glydin! Onward and Upward!

Plus, you must be very strong by now-- but you need to go up on those weights! Add a few pounds on one or two, for me, okay?

You go, Glydin! Three months is a long time to keep that commitment. Don't they say it takes 28 days to establish a new habit? No it can't be 28 days, I'm thinking of that Sandra Bullock movie, or the menstrual cycle. But anyway it's less than 3 months I'm sure. So you've established the workout habit! Yay!

with Ernesto's edges giving my area a steady rain and some wind, it was tempting to just crawl back into bed this morning BUT, I didn't. I went and gym ratted. Thank you all for your encouragement, it helped me enjoy the walk in cooling rain after the burn.... it did feel good.

That is cute. What tempo do you play that at? Do you listen to it during Step or just pumping iron? I am visualizing quite a vigorous workout.

We all need exercise. (warning: extreme self-disclosure and possible trigger:) I need it, but I don't exercise.

Do you think you could exercise once for me?

ANYONE ELSE NEED GLYDIN TO EXERCISE FOR THEM?

"Fat Bottom Girls" by Queen comes to mind to keep me honest. (Smile)

I have quite an eclectic playlist, but for workouts, arena rock works well for me.

Um, can you do some cardio for me? It makes me out of breath for some reason, so I haven't done any for a couple months. It raises my heartrate too. Should I be concerned (wink*)

And could you climb ten or fifteen floors of steps for me?

Cause I'm getting really tired of it.

And would you do it everyday? I promise to do the other half.

It would be so generous of you!

Thanks, Jost
