I'm going to Chicago this weekend (Thursday thru Sunday) and would love to meet up with anyone who's interested for a cup of coffee and a face to face.
If you don't want to reply to this post, feel free to Babblemail me.

How about Thursday? On the later side, meaning after dinner?

Hi ClearSkies,
Maybe Sunday? Saturday is a possibility, too. Either way I'd be driving in so time wouldn't really matter.

It would be great if we could all meet together with Dr Bob. It looks like Thursday evening is the opportunity for that happening.
....or, if we want to talk ABOUT Dr Bob, we can try another day than Thursday. Ha ha!

That's OK - I travel quite a bit (I have even met Babblers internationally!) and I'm sure we'll meet up.
Take care and I hope everyone's feeling better soon.CS

i would have loved to meet you if i was in chicago, cs.:) you're pretty gutsy, girl!!:-)one of these days i'd like to meet a babbler, although it's got to be a bit nerveracking, right? i'm mean, years of expectations built up as to how you will *act*...i mean, e.g., people here know how you *think*, but not how you act...2 totally different entities...both important i spose...ppl usually think i'm an extravert online for some reason, but i'm much quieter in person...(well, depends..i guess i can be a talker, too.) although i think i'd be more comfortable at a babble party than a one-on-one interaction...go figure.
i am greatly looking forward to a babble party i can go to itf, though.

You know what gives me faith in the human race? Meeting other Babblers. To a person, they have been lovely, intelligent, charming, and engaging. This weekend's Chicago trip included!! I've had the great privilege of having met others, too, with the same great experience.
I get really, really nervous in advance of meeting another Babbler - will they like me? Will they show up? Will I snort water up and out of my nose when I laugh with them? Will I get slimey salad bits in my teeth and they won't tell me about it? Ah, the familar fears of meeting familiar strangers. And all for nought.
I hope that one day I get to meet you, too, Alesta.
