I was thinking the other day, the way I do when I'm driving my car for a while, and I was thinking to myself about babble.
I was thinking that a lot of us probably know how to type pretty well because we are always posting ;-), and sometimes we have a lot to say, so typing slowly would really be sort of frustrating in that instance....so I was thinking about typing, and the way that when I was in catholic school a nun taught us how to type, and we were absolutely not allowed to look at the keys....and I keep thinking, Wow, what a good thing to learn, that might've been the best thing I ever learned

I studied typing my first year in high school. i couldn't really be bothered doing it properly... so i didn't. then at uni i had to type a lot more... i got pretty speedy with 2 fingers. knew where the keys were but wasn't used to hitting them with the finger i was supposed to be hiting them with. then a couple years ago one of my lecturers saw me typing with 2 fingers and he said 'if you are planning on researching for the rest of your life then you had best learn to type properly. you will save yourself a lot of time later on'. so... i made myself use the correct keys (which slowed me down for a while) and then i got to the point where i didn't need to look. still have to look for numbers and brackets and things i don't use often... but didn't take so long to make the switch and now i'm much faster :-)it was worth it.

Im so glad I can type too, although I was a cheater when it came to highschol typing, even though it was forbidden and there seemed to be guards watching our eyes, mine managed to look down and only got caught a few times... so I still look at my fingers but I type fast. I was having this thought the other day actually, i noticed a one finger typer and appreciated what I had learned.

Seriously I took three years of typing years ago in high school . But my Daughter just now is taking typing in a community college. She uses the computer so much at work. She decided to learn right. So consider doing that. She's getting an A. Love Phillipa
