I'll bet it was good. But if it's so sad, I won't be able to see it. Can you tell me the story?

He was telling me that he thought it was the best love story he'd seen in a movie in a long time. And that he liked it so much he would see it again -- in a theater no less! (He doesn't sit still long enough to see a whole movie, usually. Says his SO says, 'why should I tell you what's going on, you won't be around long enough to see it anyway?")

Good, huh? I'm not sure I feel up to a movie theatre experience right now. Maybe when it hits DVD...

I saw it. It's an ok story with a sad ending, but it's the acting that's amazing...not the story. I can definitely understand why Heath Ledger is getting so much Oscar buzz. He was amazing in it. I had no idea he could act that good.

So far in the press, the big issue has been the one love scene (near the beginning of the film). I didn't know what to expect. It was probably 1 minute long and didn't show anything...just implied explicitly what was going on. Other than that, there is a bit of male-male kissing. There also isn't really much nudity (other than a few butt shots). :-) But there is one scene with both of them jumping off a high cliff naked and ummmmmmm....you sort of see more than you were expecting even though it was a far away shot. hahahaha!

If you're not comfortable with homosexuality, then you probably won't like the movie at all. Otherwise, the acting is extremely good. It will be interesting to see what happens when Oscar time comes around. I don't think it deserves a Best Picture nomination, but I wouldn't be surprised if Heath Ledger was nominated for Best Actor.

I agree Heath Ledger's Ennis is one of the best performances I have ever seen.

But I also liked the story. It's really not about homosexuality at all. It's more about two people that fall in love in an impossible situation.

It's heartbreaking and violent and tragic. I'm having a tough time shaking the movie off.

I love Heath Ledger-- thought he was great in 10 Things I Hate About You, years ago.

If it's that sad, don't think I'll go see it though. I was depressed for weeks after seeing Platoon and have avoided seeing the sad ones ever since.

Heath Ledger is awesome, and has really matured as an actor before our eyes... "10 Things I Hate About You" is one of my favorite movies!

(you're welcome for the " ", Dr. B ;-) )

But even more I can watch him over and over in "A Knight's Tale" I just remembered he was in "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson, too, but I can't watch that one over and over - too much for me on the emotional intensity scale.

Heath is so cute...just don't tell him I'm the right age to be his mom...'kay?

Guess I gotta go see both Brokeback and Casanova...mmmm....Heath overload :-)

Oh yeah, I forgot about A Knight's Tale. That was good, but the music really made that one.

My favorite part in 10 Things, is the crazy ob/gyn dad and his speeches about sex! ;~} I quote him to my daughters all the time! LOL!!!

My daughter saw it and loved it. Usually she's not sad over movies, and thought this one was really sad. I can't see sad movies, so I'm with you CrazyT, I think I'll skip this one. I have trouble shaking the sad ones. I haven't seen his others, maybe I'll rent one.

I had to laugh when someone said his Ennis was good, didn't realize they were talking about his character in the movie! Thought they were talking code.

I bet his little Ennis is good, too! ;~} (nm) » fairywings
