because...

when i was finding out about binding they said to save it in pdf otherwise to print it out and bring that in to them.

i asked why i couldn't just give it to them in word and they said that sometimes the print settings mean the page layout gets a little altered. while i could do that there would be a risk that i might end up with a heading on the bottom of a page (with the txt not starting till the next page). or i could end up with a diagram getting a funny spread across two pages or something like that.

so...

i printed it out.

and well, stuff me if it didn't print a little differently to how it was appearing on my computer screen. i have never ever noticed that before. was having trouble with one page in particular where a heading wanted to appear both at the bottom of one page and at the top of the next. thought i had managed to fix it by moving things around... and by printing one page at a time.

but now i notice... that there are about three places where on the screen it got the whole paragraph onto the bottom of the page. but on the printed version IT CHOPPED OFF THE END OF MY SENTANCE.

grr
GRR
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

so...

<a little pissed off incase you can't tell>

Adobe Acrobat. Yes, it's expensive. I think.

There are word processing programs that save in .pdf format, I think. Check yours by using the Save As.... button. It'll show you the formats that your software can manage.

Otherwise, you've got export it, and check it through, page by page.

go to http://createpdf.adobe.com/?v=AHP

You can have a five day free trial that lets you save in .pdf format.

thanks Larry. I'll download that on my laptop today.

Yeah... They are a bit expensive...

I guess thats something to ask for???

Endnote (which I have to admit I have mixed feelings about...)

And something to write to PDF.

This is NOT going to happen to me again :-(

I mean, what am I supposed to do? Write in the sentances in pencil, apparantly.
:-(
:-(
:-(

My own fault for not checking it properly.
I just didn't know that this could / would happen...

I knew to watch out for headings (only 'cause they told me to)
And figures / tables.
I didn't know I could lose the end of paragraphs too.

And I was so careful to work in fullscreen, print view, at about 87% zoom so I thought I was seeing what would come out of the printer.

Why do they do this?????

To sell more software?????

You can also download and try Adobe Acrobat Pro for free for 30 days. I needed Pro for only a short time, so that is what I did. Worked perfectly for me! It was really fun to play with also.

Of what? Your message?

Maybe 10der wrapped it, by mistake. Once you get wrapping, it's hard to stop.

I should be sleeping now.

Nite-nite.
