A moment to remember forever.

Posted by lynn971 on December 21, 2005, at 10:04:54

My 13 year old was babysitting my 5 year old. I went off to work. (the kids were off, but I wasnt off yet) They were still sleeping when I left home. My 5 year old woke up and wanted to watch cartoons so she asked her sister to put them on. Her sister said, "Go back to sleep."

So my five year old decided that she would call Meme (my mom) to come get her. She dialed 911.

She told the lady that she wanted her meme because her sister did not get up to put on the cartoons. So the ambulance came to my house.

both of my girls were crying. My oldest was afraid she was in trouble. My baby thought that the ambulance was going to take her and she would never come back. It was not funny then.

Now, it is funny. My baby called 911 because she wanted to watch cartoons.

The sweet ambulance driver gave her a doll.

I guess she thought it was a real emergency!!
...but seriously, I hope all are nice and calm again, and recovering from their 911 experience. My goodness!

Really wonder why 911 didn't ask to speak to someone else. What did she tell them anyway? Fondly, Phillipa

When my 6 year old was about 3, he called 9-1-1 three times in a month.

I would suddenly get this knock at the door and it would be a sheriff's deputy- only once did they send out the full fledge ambulance and fire trucks.

By then, I think they knew to ignore any calls from this address. ROFL

Yikes! So did someone call you at work? How did you handle it when you got home?
I can see our 3 yo doing that, he keeps us hopping.

My mom called me at work. She ended up going to get my children. Then I started freaking out. I was told that 13 is the legal age to babysit, but then I was scared. My 13 year old looks 16 and is very mature for her age.

Then when I realized everything was ok. I laughed and laughed. Everybody at work was rolling with laughter.

I have now taught my 5 year old her Meme's phone number. Now that she knows the phone number, she calls Meme everyday.

Your fried,
Lynn
