She died suddenly and unexpectedly in her sleep. There were no signs of any illness. She was a very active hamster. We are guessing she might have hit her head somehow.

I'm thrust into sadness again and there is nothing anyone can do to make me feel better.
I hate myself for acting the way I do. Now I've really done it. I don't know how I can face some of you in Toronto.

So sorry Deneb, I had over 20 of the little lovelies in my life (I gave many away, I seemed to get them pregnant!), and it was always so difficult when they passed, such beautiful little creatures with lives just too short. :-(

Thank-you everyone for your condolences.
I keep asking the question, "Why?" right now. I just don't understand why Sophie died. She was young and seemed very active and healthy.
I just tried to dig a hole in the backyard, but I was unsuccessful. The ground is frozen solid. Sophie's body is in a Ziploc bag outside. I don't know how to dispose of her body. Sigh.
I'm thinking of taking the body with me on the bus and maybe putting her body somewhere along the Ottawa River. My Mom wanted to dump her in the trash, but that doesn't seem right to me.
