Thanks everyone...but THANK GOD it's over now! I don't know how many other Christmas babies are on here, but I absolutely HATE my birthday. It's been horrible and lonely for the last 20 years because of Christmas (and I'm only 29!). I'm like the Grinch around this time because I want my birthday to be about me. Unfortunately, it never is. I'm just tired of my birthday being forgotten IRL because of last minute shopping and/or holiday parties. The forums I'm apart of (for various hobbies) are the only place I get any acknowledgement. This forum is an example.

But I do have to say...I love all the free stuff I get for my birthday. For those of you who don't know...a lot of places will send you emails for free stuff. You just sign up on their websites. For example, I get a free meal at Tony Roma's (bbq place), a free burger at Red Robin, a free super combo at Loews Theaters, something free at Famous Dave's (bbq place), 2 for 1 blizzard at Dairy Queen, and a few other treats. That's usually what my birthday consists of...getting all this free stuff. I just end up having to do it alone.

No cards, no gifts (other than a $100 check from my parents), and no phone calls. No wonder I'm considering just sleeping through my next birthday. <sigh> At least I don't have to worry about it for another 364 days. :-)

Thanks again for the birthday wishes.

I hear ya, my b'day was on the 21st, and so is my 3 year olds. So now, I've given it to him, and can try to make him feel special. All growing up, it was forgotten, all married life it was forgotten, but the other day it was the best I'd ever had. My husband took me out to dinner, and my kids remembered to say happy b'day. One b'day my husband got me an umbrella, didn't wrap it, and left the receipt in the bag! ARGH! He knows better than to ever do that again!

I love meeting people born around Xmas because we usually end up supporting each other. I'm lucky at work because on my team (11 people) there are 4 of us with birthdays within 4 days. One on 12/17, two of us on 12/20, and my boss on 12/21. Whoah!

But I think your son is lucky to share a bday with you. You guys will always have a bond because of that.

I've thought about starting a Xmas baby club. I think it would be cool and exclusive enough to make us all feel special. hahaha!

I'm glad you had such a great birthday.

May I suggest something a friend of mine did? He was born on Dec. 26, and was absolutely sick of getting one gift, with a card saying Merry Christmas, and oh ya, Happy Birthday, too. No party.

So, he would celebrate his half-birthday. June 26, he would mark the official celebration of his existence. Friends and family really went for the idea.

Yes, I'm sure he knows better now, so we'll just forget that even happened. ;-)
