Home after a weekend away

Posted by ClearSkies on September 13, 2005, at 7:08:41

I could have checked Babble while I was out of town, but I needed a break from everything, I think.
Stepped back, tried to assess how I am doing. Had a wonderful trip to Montreal - such an exotic home town :-)

Walked miles and miles... felt like I was trying to stay a step ahead of my depression. For a little while it works. Caught up with me on the flight home, became anxious with the crowds and noise at the airport. Melancholy is such a close friend now.

I'm sorry the depression is dogging you again, but it sounds as if you had a nice chance to get away from it all. Are there nice scenic walks in Montreal?

Montreal walks... Old Montreal, cobbled streets, verdigris roofs, sidwalk cafes.
Botanical Gardens; acres of paths, mazes of greenhouses, colours chiming in from every side.
The metro (subway) down, down, farther down... a network of shopping plazas connecting underground so the winter winds do not deter the consumers!
Chinatown sights and smells. Walking off dim sum, tottering about and getting out of peoples' way.
Rue St. Denis - every country in the world represented by boutiques, restaurants, cafes - goes on for miles! Where to go, what to choose.

My feet ache like my heart. Week 2 on Lamictal, wondering if it will beat the beast back down when I get to a full dosage??

It's a special, magical place. Very French and tolerant of anglophones like me. I did not try to torture anyone with my 3rd grade vocabulary.

*hugs you*

Sorry that things are rough for you. The "catching up" feeling sucks; I remember how it felt to come back from a five-week stay away from home this summer. Glad you had a good trip, though. I feel honoured to have been in the same area as a fellow Babbler, even if unknowingly and due to no action on my part. :-)

Hey ClearSkies,

Glad you had a nice time in Montreal, was actually thinking about you on the way into work this morning, just wondering how you were.

Sorry you were shadowed by the beast while you were away. No matter what the internal weather, you're are always a wonderful warm azure to me.

We missed you dear one and are glad you are back. Sending you lots of beautiful Sydney sunshine to chase the clouds away.

It sounds glorious. I must confess that the idea of walking before November or so is a foreign one to me. :) But I'll bet the weather was wonderful.

You've made me want to explore Montreal. :)

Life is sad
Life is a bust
All ya can do is do what you must.
You do what you must do and ya do it well.."
-bob dylan

I'm not posting this as a "Buck Up Clear Skies" kind of msg. It's just that when I get down there are more then a few times when Dylan has helped me out. I realize that even if I am dragging I owe it to myself to keep dragging even if to experience just a few moments of pleasure when my feet catch up to the speed of my hopes.
