What am I doing wrong?

Posted by Deneb on August 16, 2005, at 18:56:17

What am I doing wrong? Why are people ignoring me? Please respond to me! You don't have to say anything.

I hate this, I'm get upset when I find out that nobody has responded to my posts. Am I just a horrible person? Is there something I just don't understand yet?

:-(

((Deneb))

I'm sorry you feel ignored. I don't know you very well, but I remember being quite touched by your concern for your pet hamster; that alone is a very good indicator that you're not a horrible person. I hope you feel better soon.

Is there anything I can do?

Who started that "FIRE IN THE OVEN"

Deneb i told you in my other post why someitmes people dont respond to mine and it makes me dumped.

Think of something everyone likes to talk about.

Like who's Tired? everyone talks about being tired, that society.

I like you deneb. Thanks for supporting me when i was down.

You are cool.

Thanks javableue, that makes me feel better.

Maybe explain why Dr. Bob ignored my post about his picture in Admin? I know he can't tell me himself, so I will probably come up with the worst possible scenario.

Wow, that is very good advice. I think maybe I talk about myself too often? The thing is, I'm not very good in conversations. I will think of somethings other people want to talk about.
Thanks Matt

I like you a lot too. You're such an interesting person and I like reading your posts.

I think you're cool too.

before i think a couple months ago i had CRAZY posts, they where long they where exiting, they where a manic period.

Sometimes i get burned out on what to really say, alot of my posts used to be long, now there just moderate, sometimes it depends on what mood, sitation, or experience on what to talk about.

I have learned certain things attract people to talk about. Like i said, Who's Tired? alot of people. Social skills.

Knowing you Deneb, i think you'll pick up in posts once you learn things to talk about commonly. Some of your posts seem "distant", maybe that whats happening, but bring talk into common talk. THat will attract more viewers.

I dont know it all but i have learned some becuase i was in the same thought months ago. Learn social skills! it pays off.

Spriggy is good example, she always has some thing crazy happening to her that people can relate too. Hehehe she is a bit coo coo.

Learning how to interact with others really pays off.

But you still are funny in your posts, i laugh once and a while. Fire in the oven was hilrious.

Take Care

Matt

Deneb, one thing you did right was choose your name:

DENEB (Alpha Cygni). One of the truly great stars of our Galaxy, Deneb serves a three-fold role among the constellations. Its very name tells the first. "Deneb" is from an Arabic word meaning "tail," as this first magnitude (1.25) star, the 19th brightest as it appears in our sky, represents the tail of Cygnus the Swan, a classical figure seen flying perpetually to the south along the route of the Milky Way. As the constellation's luminary, the star is also Alpha Cygni. The reversal of Cygnus makes the asterism of the Northern Cross, with Deneb now at the top, the cross seen rising on its side in early northern summer, standing upright in the west in early northern winter evenings. Deneb also makes the western apex of the famed Summer Triangle, which also incorporates Vega and Altair. All three of these white class A stars (Deneb an A2 supergiant) have similar surface temperatures, Vega, at 9600 Kelvin, the warmest, Deneb radiating at 8400 Kelvin. Though Vega and Altair are really quite luminous, they are first magnitude primarily because they are close to us, averaging only 25 light years away. Deneb, on the other hand, may be as far as 2600 light years. Based on that distance, its awesome luminosity of 160,000 Suns makes it about the intrinsically brightest star of its kind (that is, in its temperature or spectral class) in the entire Galaxy. If placed at the distance of Vega, Deneb would shine as bright as a well- developed crescent Moon. Deneb is a true supergiant, its diameter, calculated from its temperature and luminosity, is 200 times that of the Sun. Direct measurement of its tiny angular diameter (a mere 0.002 seconds of arc) gives a very similar value of 180 solar. If it were placed at the center of our Solar System, Deneb would extend to the orbit of the Earth. While far from the largest star in the Galaxy, Deneb is one of the biggest of its kind. It is evolving and has stopped fusing hydrogen in its core. Just what it is doing, however, we do not know. Having begun its life as a star of some 25 solar masses, its fate is almost certainly to explode sometime within the next couple of million years. The star is constant in its light, but its spectrum, its light as seen when stretched into a rainbow, is slightly variable. Blowing from its surface is a wind that causes the star to lose mass at a rate of 0.8 millionths of a solar mass per year, a hundred thousand times the flow rate from the Sun. Deneb is among the most magnificent stars you can see with the unaided eye. >>

Hm, well, not being Dr. Bob or knowing, really, the slightest thing about him, I couldn't tell you. Maybe he just hasn't gotten around to it yet, for whatever reason? Maybe he secretly really likes the idea of green hair but can't bring himself to admit it? ...okay, maybe not that second one. ;-)

Judging by his post in the thread you're referring to, I wouldn't see anything wrong with going ahead with the green hair and then suggesting that to him for a next photo. Of course, I think a more experienced Babbler than I would have a better idea, but that's just my two cents.

That's what I thought for a long time, but then he answered another post on admin and skipped mine. It wasn't an urgent post either, sort of silly like mine.

> Judging by his post in the thread you're referring to, I wouldn't see anything wrong with going ahead with the green hair and then suggesting that to him for a next photo.

I don't want to take someone else's picture without asking first.

I'm thinking that he really doesn't want someone with little to no artistic ability messing around with his pics. He probably doesn't want to affect his website negatively. He probably is afraid to tell me this so he is just ignoring me and hoping that I will just go away.

It's OK if he doesn't want green hair...it really is. I just thought it might be funny is all. I could post it on my web page if he doesn't want it on his site, but first I need permission.

>Of course, I think a more experienced Babbler than I would have a better idea, but that's just my two cents.

thanks again javableue

Your two cents matter to me.

I hate it when people don't respond to my posts. It seems like you start long threads, though. I guess it's just a difference in perceptions.

I.

I am new here, and maybe I should not be so forward, but damn I have to. We are all obviously in need of a shoulder here, but sh*t.....you are more paranoid then me!! Now that is a stretch!!! Here is my take on your problem..I have been here less days then I can count on one hand. You have posted so many "pay attention to me!!!!!" notes but no one has answered right?? Well, heres the thing... keep trying and sooner or later someone will answer, but if you start begging people will pass your posts by. Maybe I am wrong. I am new. Maybe you shouldn't even listen to me. Hey, I like you. Does that help?

It's not paranoia when it's true. :-(
Or maybe I am paranoid, I don't know anymore.

The things I think up CAN be true, they are not too far fetched.

Is it because people want me to suffer? (I'm not assuming anything here, I'm really just asking a question.)

Yes. Thanks
