Lou's Haven of Rest

Posted by Lou Pilder on July 7, 2005, at 8:50:06

Friends,
I am inviting all that can come to Cincinnati, Ohio to Lou's Haven of Rest.
You will have sleeping bags and I can accommodate about 30 people.
We can use a gas grill to make all meals, cheap. There is no charge to stay.
I am thinking of a "rest-in". Let us say a weekend. Durring that time we can have a rest-in.
Cincinnati, by auto, is 13 hours from New York, Atlanta. St. Louis,8 hours. Dallas, 20 hours. Toronto, 6 hours. Chaicao 5 hours. West coast, 3 days.
We could have those days, my friends, we could sing and dance , my friends, we could laugh forever and a day.
Lou

I love that song, Lou.
I seem to be doing quite a bit of travelling lately! (Canada today) and I am determined to meet as many Babblers as I can in my journeys. You're on my list! (It may take me a while.)
your friend,

Hey there Lou, I have been wondering about you and whether you were still around. I'm glad that you are :-) I wish I could come to Cincinnati Ohio (just don't ask me the difference between Ohio and Idaho).

Wow. 3 days???

welcome back Lou

Friend,
This will be a very low-budget weekend. Hot dogs and beans under the stary night. Tents for those that like the great outdoors. Inside is a washer and dryer so that you only need to bring 1 change of clothes. There are 3 baths and 5 empty bedrooms on a acre wooded, secluded. Your friends could be the racoons and wild cats.the deer and owles in the trees.
I say that if you could get here, we could have a new song fill the woods, with the moon to join in and the trees to clap their hands and the fox to come out of its hole and the deer to dance with joy.
Lou

It sounds great, Lou. Particularly hot dogs and beans under the stars!

Good to see you back!

Lou, it sounds fun, and it's great that you invited all of us! :) For me it won't be possible to do any travel in the near future, but I will think about those hot dogs with a smile. The stars sound good too!

It's good to see you back here.

Ha ha! I hadn't thought of that...

Oh well, if everyone sings loud enough, no one will notice!

I would love to go Lou, it sounds really fun. I love to camp out under the stars. I love watching animals too. I can't go because I don't have a car and I have to work 6 days a week right now.

Oh Lou, just the post was heavenly! Thank you so much.
I really wish I could make it but finances forbid even a cheap trip. It really is a wonderful sounding invitation.

Friends,
The lyric,[...feel the earth move under my feet...]is correct from Carol King's masterpiece album, "Tapestry". However, the lyric,[...take a chance on me...] was by the mastefull European group, ABBA, not Eurasia.
My apologies,
Lou

Hi Lou,

You weren't wrong. The song is Abba's, but Erasure covered it.

I don't know Carol King at all. Is she good?

Hey Lou I know Carol King. I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky come moving down. I think we're aging ourselves. Fondly, Phillipa
