pretty crafty little buggers. Last night, I think they sensed that the jig was up, and they have been avoiding my traps that I have strategically placed in the kitchen, and have started congregated on one wall and close to the ceiling. They will rue the day they tried to cross me!!!!

ok so ive caved with the vacuum, take the hose part to the wall and suck the little buggers...its ok Im giving you permision to be cruel to the creatures that prevent wrinkles just once. :-)

So I can't kill them because that would involve looking at them. However, a friend of mine said the kindest way to kill them is to stab them or cut them in half. Apparently they have very simple nervous systems...
I have to go wash my hands now. Just the thought of them makes me want to hurl. And as for the slug sex, I don't think I'll be checking out that website anytime soon!

I'm not so sure THEY want to co-exist with me. I think they intend to slowly take over my house. I mean, I walked into the living room a while ago, and caught a gang of them, wings up, smoking my cigarettes and drinking my diet sprite, watching a re-run of Seinfeld. One of them had the unmitigaged gall to say "Yo, b*tch, don't even think about touching that remote!!!!" I worry that I will wake up tomorrow morning out in the middle of the road, after having been removed from the house like bad rubbish by a gang of malcontent fruit flies.
Oh, woe is me ! :-)

There is a great desscription of slug sex in a book by Gerald Durrell called "My family and other animals". It's about his time on a Greek Island when he was a kid. It a wonderful book, and in it he talkes a lot about his brother "Larry", lots of animals and insects as well as his life in general. It's one of my all time favourite books, and I mostly read fiction.
He talks about one slug pulling up beside another, being side by side, shooting little arrows that have lines attached into each other and then the lines shortening until they are flesh to flesh, side by side. I don't know what happens then, but they are hermophroditic, so whatever it is would be bound to be interesting!

I could never use those glue boards either. I just couldn't bear the thought of a little stuck mouse, it would break my heart. It's funny how different people are though. When I was working at a group home, the roofers covered up a squirrels nest, with baby squirrels in it. My co-worker Hilda, told me about it. She was in her 60s and tough, no nonsense. My reaction of course was "Oh no, they didn't!"
"Yeah" she said "Can you believe it"? This house is going to stink for a while"

Funny, that's the only method I allowed my friend to use when I stayed with her. She lived on the University Campus, and I said "but it's a tough call because if we leave beer out, we're likely to attract frat boys too!"

I just bought some sluggo, because I went outside and they ate my flowers, and left their nasty snot trails all over the place! Sluggo is cheaper than a 24 pack of beer. I hate that it isn't organic, but I won't have a garden left if I don't do something. I tried to go out with night with a flashlight to catch them, but my garden is too big, and they reproduce way too fast to keep up. I guess I could play taps on my trumpet for them , if it will make you all feel better. I will give them some respect after I kill all of them! lol
