Yea! I am totally with you on this bra thing. I despise bras! They make me irritable...they either itch or scratch...and if they aren't doing that they are making me sweat like a hogmeyer. I have developed a whole pattern for summer wear that doesn't require a bra. Mainly sleeveless denim dresses. They are relatively cool and no one can tell you don't have a binder on. Is it just me or does it seem like men have a sixth sense when you aren't wearing a bra? When i try to get away with it in a tee shirt and there isn't a print on the shirt it seems like mens eyes are always planted there (at the mall walking around or whatever).
There was a really old movie i think was called "Where Angels Go Trouble Follows" and the nuns took the girls at this boarding school out to buy their first bras. One nun kept referred to the bras as binders and that terms always seemed so appropriate to me.

Though I don't tend to cave to society about wearing make up.. when I want to wear it, I do, when I don't want to wear, I dont!!
I have grown to love my brests over the past few years.. I relaly enjoy having them now..
But periods.. EURGH.. And so, with the advice of 3 different ob/gyn's, I don't take breaks on the pill anymore.. I've been on the pill for 16 years anyway, so taking it is second nature to me..
My Gyn reckons that no women will be taking breaks within 5 years.. Theres no medical reason to take the break and ave a period when on th pill.. the bleeding isn't a period.. its not shedding womb lining, as you don't build that up while on the pill, its actually a withdrawal effect of the pill..
So not had a period for 3 years or more.. *grins*Nikki

it can be tiring at times, you're right! It does suck that we have to do our hair, wear make-up, dress up, "enjoy" tampons on a regular basis, shave our legs, wear bras (carefully chosen not to show thru our shirts with lacy outlines or something), etc. But still, I'd rather do it all than have to shave, worry about going bald, have an Adam's apple, or just be a guy. I LIKE being a girl, difficulty and all! I love pink, and shoes, and girly stuff, and pretty clothes, and makeup (even though I hate that I'm sometimes "expected" to wear it). I like pedicures, and getting my hair done, and perfume, and when I lose 5 lbs and suddenly my favorite pants fit again. I love flirting, even though I'm not what you'd call a supermodel by any means, or even a "sort of super" model. I like purses. I like shoes with pointy toes. (Did I already mention shoes???) I like it -- even though it's on the decline -- when a guy holds a door for me. (Although usually I'M the one holding doors for people, like elderly people or women with baby buggies, since most guys seem to ignore them and just slam, slam, slam.)I know there's the glass ceiling, the wage difference, and discrimination. But still, I'd rather be a girl! :)
But I'm with you on the bra-less thing. It sure would be cool if we never needed them! And I agree - if you don't want make-up, don't wear it. I think most people look prettier without it. Just be prepared for a few whistles and cat-calls from guys who 'appreciate" the fact that you are currently bra-less. :)
If you have bad periods, many docs now DO recommend the pill and you can have your period just 4 times a year, I think. I don't do it but I ahve a friend who does - she LOVES not having her period. I'm a bit afraid of taking that kind of medication - it seems "unnatural" even though it also seems easy and cool. I don't know. I guess I'll wait for more info from the FDA and make sure it's safe after years of use...

I read something -- there is a device invented to simulate a penis for women who are camping and want to pee standing up like men. I read it in a jokey kind of article, but I think it's "real." You pee into a cup thing, I think, kind of like a funnel, and there is a loooong tube that you can direct away from you. I'm not sure how the liquid level is regulated, or how you "put on" the device (some info was missing!) but it seemed to be a real thing. Not sure I'd try it...at least, not with others around!
Anyone else heard of this? I'm serious, I swear it!

Yes, I've heard that such a device exists as well. I read something about women cyclists using it. Usually men cyclists who are in long races all stop together as small groups to take mutual pee breaks...they do it standing up and very quickly, I think maybe while still on their bikes. It is a hassle for women. I read something somewhere about how a female cyclists surprised the heck out of her male competitors by doing the same thing one day. :-)

I think the Victoria's Secret bras are the most comfortable. Expensive, but comfortable, very stretchy and SOFT!Periods are annoying, but I don't want to get old, I have a phobia, and as long as I have a period I feel that I'm young(ish).

I agree, growing up seems like a cruel joke. When we're young, our bodies are so cute and there's usually innocense. That's the way we should stay. I also think as people grow old they should start to look younger and younger, so they'd be cuter to take care of when they're old, but that's my weird thought.

I've used mascara a couple of times...it doesn't work for me. My eyelashes are short and point downwards. Whenever I blink the upper eyelashes stick to the lower eyelashes when I wear mascara. Sometimes I end up with a dark shadow under my eye from the mascara.

I hate wearing bras. Mine comes off the minute I get in the house. Right after I kick off my shoes.
As for periods, eventually they go away, but that means menopause. Which I am rapidly heading towards.
If you really want to stop your periods, go on Depo Provera- it's a contraception injection you get every three months. It stops your periods. At last a use for my once writing brochures in health care.

I do most of the time when I'm home. And I do it whenever I can outside the home too. (Usually in the cooler months, when I'm wearing heavier clothes.)

Start socking away some money and get a breast reduction surgery. I've inherited my mother's (and grandmother's) droopy chin/neck. If I were to ever consider "cosmetic" surgery, it would be for that! I so envy women with long, graceful necks.

I was only 13 when I went on the pill, and I wasn't sexually active. Its often prescribed for bad PMT or painful periods..
But.. do speak with your doc as it doesn't suit everyone, and it took me a few tries to find a pill that suited me..
