watched House... loved how they worked in his story and his epiphany about love and life...

but who got proposed to and why the heck did Rory decide not to go back to Yale? All because of that b*stard at the newspaper?!?

aaahhh, tell me, tell me... their lives are sooooo much more interesting than mine!!!!

(and, geez, if I keep comparing my life to those of tv characters, I'm REAALY going to keep disappointing myself (wink)... Where the heck is MY scriptwriter?!?!?!

well...
rory decided not to go back to yale because of what logans father said to her about her not being cut out to be a journalist.

since they just finished finals i guess it must be summer? if so, the writers will have all summer to write her back into school by fall. she only dumped on one exam so she could make that up.

logan was really nice about getting a felony with her. lorelai spilled the beans to logan that his father was to blame for rory being upset. he wanted to go tell his father off but rory begged him not to (sounds like a soap) so he didn't.

lorelai went to her parents asking them to back her up with rory about going back to school. they said they would but when rory asked them if she could move into their pool house they agreed. when lorelai heard they were going to accept rory not going back to school she felt betrayed and went to see luke. when she told luke that rory wasn't going back he flipped and was as upset as she was.

watching the emotions cross her face as luke spoke so vehemently about rory was interesting. then she just blurted out "luke, will you marry me?"

cut to end of season.

i missed house to watch that britney spears self inflicted home movie. what did i miss?

thanks for the update..

Well, the show was formulated totally differently than any of the others. It started out as usual, with the big story being the fact that his ex-wife came in to beg House to take on her new husband as a patient. He tells her no. She asked him why and he said that he wasn't sure if he wanted her new husband to live (!)End of scene...

Then Cutty demands that House fill in for a teaching doctor and teach his class (guy was out sick AGAIN, apparently). House tries to get out of it, as usual, the deal is cut for less clinic hours if he does what she wants, as usual, but when he gets to the classroom, the format of the show completely changes.

He gives examples about diagnoses and how decision-making is a huge part of being a good doctor and how to live with making the "right decisions as doctors" that maybe aren't so easy to live with as humans. There are flashbacks (although we are unaware as of yet that they are flashbacks) to different patients presenting with leg pain. As the different stories unfold and the actions that House and his staff take while decision-making, the class is "there" with him in the examining rooms... Like a dream sort of, then House's staff are doing THEIR thing (including going out to the farmer's farm to catch a snake that supposedly bit him to be able to administer the correct venom- typical House style), so the format kinda switches back ond forth, present, past, examining room examples and classroom participation- very gripping...

THEN one of the examples morphs into House himself and we get the whole story about the pain meds and his limp AND the dissolution of his marriage. It is all part of the same story! He had muscle cell death in his leg, he refused to let them remove his leg, knowing that he would have a great deal of acute pain for as long as it took extra "rotten cells" to flush from his system and that they could potentially reach his heart and kill him before being nuetralized. When the pain got really bad, his wife begged him to go for a "middle road" surgery which would remove a large portion of the muscle and leave him with chronic pain for the rest of his life. He rejected that, as he always rejects "middle of the road" techniques. But when the pain gets really bad for so long that his heart stops, they bring him back and he requests to be put in a chemically induced coma to "sleep out the acute pain stage". So Cutty does put him in the coma he asks for(she's House'doctor through this!) and his wife signs the surgical release form for the muscle removal "middle road" surgery that she knew he didn't want, but as he was in a coma, she had the "next of kin right" to make his medical decisions for him. And he never forgave her for that and they divorced.

Cutty and the oncologist/best friend (can't remember his name) have come into the classroom (the examples and the classroom participation go back and forth throughout) by the end of the story. And they call out to him that his wife made the right decision- the only one that saved his life, maybe.

He actually runs the class twenty minutes later than it should have gone because he was wrapped up in it himself. When he leaves, he tells Cutty to tell the regular teaching doctor to start drinking out of plastic cups- and to stop letting his child play with lead-based paint. He, of course has figured this ou while borrowing the profs (World's Best Dad) cup that his kid obviously made!

And the closing scene is House calling his ex-wife and scheduling an appointment for her husband the following day. Forgiveness. Wow!

And the preview for next week is actually House treating the husband and someone accusing him of trying to kill him, not cure him!!! Should be another good one!!!

dang you tell a good story, thanks! (nm) » sunny10

I saw Gilmore Girls. I really enjoyed it. I love the fast paced witty dialogue esp. between Lorelai and Rory. Lorelai's parents are a hoot. I get really bored with most of the stuff about the locals or the employees at Lorelai's inn though. The writing around those characters is usually a little too quaint and cutesy for my taste. But a really good episode overall. Leaves me longing for next season to see what happens.

I've never watched "House". I'll definitely have to check that one out. Thanks.
