See How They Run

Posted by AdaGrace on May 16, 2005, at 9:58:50

I find it interesting that sometimes those closest to you "run" at the first sign of "crazyness" coming out in a person. Many people just simply cannot handle it. Anyone else find this true?

My children do it.
My husband does it.
Sometimes my friends even do it.

But most of the time I do it. To myself that is.

yup i know what you mean. People like happy people not depressed people. I may even do it inadvertently. i dont think very many people can handle emotions in others. I dont think it is to be mean I think it is more about them feeling uncomfortable. Then there are those amazing people who know just what to say and when to say it and can stick the rough times out with others.

I avoid other people when I'm depressed because I don't want to have to pretend I'm OK... it just takes too much energy. And I don't want to show them how I'm feeling, because I feel like such a downer (to acquaintances) or a burden (to family and friends).

I do that too. But for me, I hate when they ask what is wrong. What do you say - nothing and everthing? Nothing, I just wanna cry? It's all so hopeless even though I've got so many things going for me? So I try to avoid people rather than put on a happy face.
