Hey, the boards are supposed to be a forum for us to interact with each other. I have to say that I don't really understand why people leave when they have an issue with Dr B. I mean if you avoid admin then you could almost pretend he doesn't even exist.

I am sorry that you feel hurt, but my experience is that even more hurts happen in the real world. This forum is still comparatively safe.
I understand that you feel that Dr B is letting you down on this one. I don't know what to say about his reasons or whatever there. I guess we can hope that he might share over on admin. Otherwise I have to admit that I am suitably mystified...
Please don't go cause of him.

I think Alexandra's post explained where the potential problem lies: "this poster payed extremely little *concern* for my feelings".
It's not about using "babblespeak" correctly, using "I" words, or mastering the civility guidelines but about boundaries. We are fine as long as we talk about "our" stuff but when we talk about the other person's motives we get into "their" stuff.
I think part of this site's civility is giving people the benefit of the doubt. Lou made a mistake, apologized for it, and Dr. Bob put an asterisk in the offending word. Just about everyone recognizes that Lou didn't do anything intentional.
A statement like, "this poster payed extremely little *concern* for my feelings" suggests otherwise.

You and I have sparred a lot during the time I've been on this board, Bob, and the truth is that I've come back after leaving both times because of all these wonderful people and IN SPITE of your administrative decisions. But as angry as I've been, I've got to say, boyo, I have never been so consumed by feelings of disgust for your handling of any situation as this one. Angel Girl could have added so much to this site. Let me ask you a personal question: Don't you look in the mirror after reading all these posts on her behalf and feel at least a little bit ashamed? why don't you just take a breather and a break from psychobabble? just give it some time and see how you feel in a while. i have been extremely hurt by several posts that seemed to be attacking me a couple of years ago. i took a break, and now i am back. i am sorry to hear what you are going through. this place can be such a place of support. but at times, because we all make ourselves vulnerable here, our feelings are going to be hurt. it is inevitable. i hope that you will return sometime. i hope things work out for you!

I lay this loss to the site, the departure of Angel Girl, squarely in your lap. All you had to do was replace nine -- just bloody nine -- letters in a header to stop this. But that was apparently just too f*cking much to ask from Bob Almighty. i have limited time to write today, but i thought it was important to respond to your post..
boy, angel girl, i have BEEN THERE. you are not the only one who's been hurt on admin. i don't wanna go into it too much, or i'm gonna get worked up, but i UNDERSTAND, more than i can express. this painful feeling will pass, i promise. the way i deal now is to stay the he## away from the admin board entirely now. every single time i go back there there are problems. too many conflicts arise over there, and many unfair things happen. i think something needs to be done, but that rests in bob's hands..i've fought all i can on that issue..don't leave, hon..i was just starting to get to know you.:-) it'll be okay, i promise, angel. i've had a lot of anger and left myself a couple times, but i finally decided to stay, avoid admin, and forgive the posters and administrator who had hurt me and others. i'm not telling you how you should deal, but only what worked for me..i forgave them for MYSELF..it was the only way i could move on..but if you must leave, i support that..

Thank you very much for your support. I really appreciate that as well as your understanding. I'm sure there have been a number of people who have been in my shoes.
I guess you haven't been able to keep up to date with the very long saga, lol!!! but I have decided to stay because of all the great support that I have received. I always knew that Lou did not intend to hurt me but sometimes we inadvertantly hurt people without even trying. I'm dealing with it and trying to put it behind me. I hope everybody else will not harbor any bad feelings towards me and be able to move on too.

I have an almost uncanny ability to blow off people who hurt me, at least I feel like I've demonstrated it here, only I did backslide a bit recently. Maybe try just blowing more stuff off, you know, because , everyone who posts here is not necessarily perfectly stable at all times, and it behooves us all to remember that. Try to see yourself more as perfect and I'm guessing if you're successful less stuff from others will bother you. You're allowed to see yourself in a positive light, Angel Girl, honestly.

Don't you think that there is *possibly* too much to print to take to my T. Maybe it would be better if she logged on and read for herself. However; she has admitted to me the last time that I was there that she is computer challenged. Also, with the enormity (is that a word?) of the posts involved in the situation, she could be reading forever. I think I will have to give her the verbal condensed version which will lose something in the translation because my memory very often fails me.
I do thank you for your suggestion though.
