Blocked my internet access from my staff account.
Maybe that means they saw how much they had been paying out...
(Well rearranging really. We own the server but the department has to pay ITS for usage)
Maybe they checked what sites I frequent...
My email still seems to be ok
So who knows.

yup it is Christmas Eve afternoon right now. i am heading north five hours. just about ready to leave to go to my boyfriend's parents' house. sorry about the block. that sucks!

alexandraI'm sorry to hear that they blocked your internet access at work. I'm assuming that you can still access from home after reading your next post, which you made on Christmas morning (wherever you are). Still Christmas Eve here and wishing it was the day after Christmas.

Ouch. Sorry, Alexandra. I'm always too paranoid to post from anywhere but home. I always figure there's some way they'll find Babble even if I erase all my cookies.

I have a student account and a staff account.
The department picks up the cost of the staff account
I have to put money on my student account to access the internet.
It is not just here that I can't access with my staff account, though, it is anything outside the varsity network. I will ask what is up. Well, I'll see if I can get to databases and google first...Actually I suppose that it is fair enough for me to pay for this really... It is just that it is pretty much considered a perk. You just can't listen to the radio online too much, and have to be careful about games etc.

Oh yeah, I can't post from home. Well, actually I can because the hostel has a computer lab but thats still 'work' access really. I have never had access from home. Lucky if I can afford to have the phone on really (I just text from my cell). Not something I will be able to afford in the near future.
I don't like using work access for Babble but for me there really is no other way. I try not to use 'my' work computer because of cookies etc but I suppose I have gotten complacant over time. I can go to the library or the computer lab or plug my laptop into the varsity connection. Trying not to use my laptop online though because I haven't subscribed to Norton updates and if anything else gets infected then at least it isn't my problem. :-)
