concert in Texas this summer???????????

Wow. What was it like? I'm SO JEALOUS. This is so fabulous.

I LoVE musicians, they're the greatest. And conductors, too. mmm. Saw my local conductor at the grocery store today, swooned a bit and got over it. He looks at me like he knows me, you know the type? Okay, but that's symphony orchestra, nothing like this, is is the same but different... this music is SO FABULOUS.

No Susan :-( I missed it..would have liked it (nm)

Like from the Klesmer stuff from Belorussia like in "Fidler On The Roof", or some of the Pig-Herder (challenge) dances from Hungary (looks like Oriental martial arts with fat 6 foot long sticks normally used for herding stubborn pigs), or the Greek Soldier dances from Epiros region of Greece, or the Racinitsa, the Pravo, and Cacak dances from Bulgaria, or the Horoa (battle) dances from Isreal... And, don't forget the Ukrainian Cosack dances where each guy challenges the next with leaps and spins, called prisiadkas... Yep and they are a workout, I call 'em "ethnic-dancercize"!!! "Arkan", a Klesmer dance, is my all time favorite. Shows Cosack influences, but the music is all Klesmer!!!

Hope I didn't put anyone to sleep with my travelog of ethnic "machismo" dances....

Rod
