What the heck is Astafatida????? LOL...I love garlic can eat it by the bucket but not Cilantro lol....I agree pungent that is a good word...So what else do people use it for??? I just heard it on the cooking show bought it and like you and hubby Gabbix I was like GAK,.,,,,UGHHHH...Maybe it's like those people who can taste something MOST people cannot on that paper in school..remember that in grade school..maybe we al tasted something most people don't...or maybe I added way too much lol

> You see that's just it, most people love it, that's why my ex refused to believe I hated it.
> It's well how can you describe why you hate the taste of something that most people love. It makes me gag, it's so pungent and overwhelming.
> But I like other things that are pungent and overwhelming like Garlic, I don't even mind a little Astafatida, and that is PUNGENT..

I like to use cilantro with lime juice as a marinade for steak, chicken, pork or fish. See how much I love it?

Also, I have a recipe for "Winter Vegetable Chili" which is butternut squash, black beans, carrots and onions in a tomato base with chili powder. At the end you add a bunch of cilantro and some sour cream. And you take a spoonful and just go "aaahhhhh".

so I'm not of much help here. I grew lots of herbs and they look real pretty when they bloom, but using them for something other than decoration eludes me.

GG It sounds like a very yummy chili but um I think if I make it I would rather skip the Cilantro...and how much is a bunch to you??? I used about a 1/2 cup in my stuffed mushrooms

But d**m if i dont make a mean PB&J.
I have the utmost respect for all of you.
One day we will have a get together and I will

up fruit.
I am just really impressed.

what on earth is cilantro? I have never heard of it.

Sabrina (sweet basil, rosemary, oregano, paprika, thyme and parsley. Lots and lots of fresh parsley)

enough room on my desk today to eat a sandwich
and set down my coffee. SO there!

Seriously though, If i knew where stuff
was SUPPOSED to go, I would put it there, i just
have no clue. :)

me (it was an emergency), and told them to
toss everything that didnt have alcohol in it.
So now its empty 'cept for a bottle of wine
and some beer. i dont drink too much, but
i keep that stuff around for when one of my
pals comes over. She always beelines for the
fridge and asks if i have any beer. Im usually
like, "hmmm, ,i dont know, why dont you check"
hehe.

yoshimi,

I can do PBJ, but scrambled eggs would require using a stove. I short circuited a stove when I turned on the wrong burner and shattered a ceramic tea pot. Tea and wires don't mix well.

Poet!

You are cuter than me. :)

I have actually put hot water in a ceramic
mug and put it on the burner and turned it
on to make tea. It was my fathers favorite
mug that he got overseas. Ooops. You
can actually make scrambled eggs in the
microwave. Thats the way i used to do it.
But I have moved up to the stove method now.
Its not too bad if you have a good nonstick
pan. You just mix up the eggs and a random
amount of milk and then throw it in the
pan, and mix it up a whole lot, cook it until
there is no liquid in there at all just egg.
Then get it out of there really fast before
it burns. Put a little cheddar cheese in
there and voila, Dinner. :)
