I noted on Admin that she has changed her name to Poetess.

I think that might be someone else. There was someone on, I think faith, with a name that might be triggering...M--J--Poet.

I'm guessing that is Poetess, but I could be wrong.

Hi Dinah,

I'm doing okay. Trying to convince myself that self medicating with wine is not a good way to get through Thanksgiving dinner. But it's what I've been doing for years, why change tradition?

I had to ask my parents to buy the fixings for Thanksgiving dinner, because we can't afford it. Usually we buy everything, but dessert. This year I feel like an ad for the Salvation Army. Can you help this poor soul have a happy Thanksgiving?

My brother will be coming over. I don't want to think about it. I feel like standing on my chair and screaming at him and my parents. They should pay for my therapy and meds since the emotional damage was inflicted by my brother and their ignoring my brother. But they don't know I'm in therapy and they better stay out of the medicine cabinet.

Oh, my God, I'm ranting. Sorry. Sorry. I see my T tomorrow I'll save it for her.

On a more positive note, a potential employer called me asking to send references. Maybe I'll get a second interview next week, that'll help me feel better about myself mentally, physically and economically.

Thanks for asking how I'm doing. I know you're going through a lot with your parents these days.

I'm still Poet. I didn't know there was another poster using a close name, maybe I should ask her if she would change it?

Maybe I should keep my opinion to myself, but I am all for using wine for medicinal purposes!! I personally see no problem with having a glass or two to take the edge off a difficult day. In fact, I may do it myself this year. Thanks for giving me the idea!

Hi Skittles,

I think wine is a great medicine. It's not like I have to worry about driving home. The only benefit of letting my family invade my house.

Enjoy and glass or two of your favorite.

Golly, that sounds difficult with your family there. I can see why you would want to scream at them. I hope it's not too bad. Self-medicating isn't so bad unless it leads to a headache or worse, then you need to medicate for real. :(

Oh, and the other poster changed name already from the prior one to Poetess. I don't know if she would be open to changing again, but it is confusing.

Take care,
gg

Hi GG,

I'm glad that she changed her name, but Poetess is still pretty close. I don't know if I should ask her if she'd mind changing it (again) maybe I'll wait to see if we post on the same boards. So far I haven't seen any posts from her.

Poet, the one and only

Ugh. Sounds awful. Family stuff in many families is far more stress than work. I told my husband today that my therapist seemed not to like my mother, and my husband said he should think of her fondly whenever he deposits my check.

I finally had to back a bit off from them for a while to recoup my strength.

Remember to do the same. Surely there must be somewhere quiet to retreat during the family gathering. Even if it's the bathroom. :)

I hate insomnia, why am I still up at 1:30 a.m.? Anyway, I had a good therapy session, which hopefully will help.

I will hide in the bathroom, and/or take out the garbage one tiny bag at a time. I'd like to throw my brother out, but they don't make trash bags that big. ;)

I'll post on Friday. After I get to take my mother Christmas shopping. Argh.
