It's on my calenday too! It's the only weekly TV show I regularly watch.

Same here. There are some shows I try to watch but this one I HAVE TO WATCH (esp. since NBC decided it wasn't profitable enough to broadcast the reruns). That makes me so angry. GRRRRR!!!

I was worried when Aaron Sorkin left but it's still quite good. I read that they're already in the process of planning what they should do when Bartlet's second term runs out. They're even considering having a Republican win the next election. That would involve a whole cast change which would make me very sad. Personally I'd like to see the constitution changed so that Bartlet could run again. It is only TV, afterall.

A real dilemma

Of course since I'm a Red Sox fan, I always assume that they're going to lose, and since I can't stand to watch them lose to the Yankees, I probably wouldn't watch much of the game anyway.

You could always tape the Red Sox and watch them lose later. :-)

How particularly sweet to win in Yankee Stadium after being 3 games down - the first team to ever make that kind of comeback!

I managed to watch both, courtesy of 2 TVs. I watched West Wing, but cut out during commercials and when anything big happened. Then because I get too nervous thinking the Red Sox are going to blow it again, I followed the box score while on the computer, mindlessly (and nervously) playing spider solitaire. I did join my husband for the last inning.

I have to admit I'm mostly a fan during the post season - baseball goes too slow for me most of the time and it's one of my least favorite sports to watch on TV. But for the most part, New England really is Red Sox Nation and the comeback has been a huge unifying topic of conversation among strangers over the last week.

Now, if they could just find a way to win the World Series.

Mair,

I'm glad you got to see both. I woke up this morning and the first thing I heard from my radio alarm clock was that the Sox won - and I thought of you and hoped you didn't follow my advice! (Fortunately I posted it way to late for it to have mada a difference.)

I lived in Boston for many years and so I'm really glad they won. However, I did grow up in New York ... but still I always like the underdog.

P.S. When are Josh and Donna finally going to realize how they feel about each other? Did you catch the line jealous Josh gave when Donna asked "Isn't he great?" referring to her photographer boyfriend? It was kind of a strange storyline though - having Bartlet broker peace in the Middle East. But then it is only entertainment.

Bobby

I have to admit I relished in the fact that Schilling came through so well since he was the guy who actually really wanted to come to Boston, whereas A Rod (of the losing team) made it clear he would not allow himself to be traded to the Red sox.

It's unbelievably gross to read what they had to do to Schilling to get him in a place where he could pitch - a ghoulish practice they'll have to repeat each time he pitches. It was a new procedure, practiced first on a cadaver. What a gamer!
