I need a bit of silliness right now

Posted by partlycloudy on September 21, 2004, at 14:29:47

So I'm going to tell you about my cat Psycho. We got her at the SPCA 2 years ago. She loves to run from the top floor of our home down three flights of stairs to the front door, then back up again. She sees her favourite toy on the floor and she'll sit on it as if it's going to escape from her. She takes running leaps at the bathroom sinks so she can have fresh people water instead of the cat water that (yuck) sits on the floor. When I'm alone and my husband is out of town, she follows me all over the house and never leaves my side, especially when I'm posting. When I cry she sits close and puts up with much more clutching and petting and doesn't mind getting my tears all over her fur. She likes me to tickle the end of her nose. She starts to drool when I get out the nail clippers for her front paws because she knows she gets a treat at the end. She doesn't particularly like to be held but puts up with it from me. My husband, on the other hand, can pick her up like a baby, swing her around (we now know our living room really is large enough to swing a cat in), and he can take a hold of her entire head and turn it this way and that like a faucet... and she purrs.

OK, that's enough for me.

Animals are so entertaining. I have a cat and a dog. Whenever the cat explores something in the backyard, the dog isn't far behind. She has to see what it is too. Sometimes they get excited and run side by side through the grass. It's so sweet. They get along well 95% of the time, but sometimes the dog will try to intimidate the cat when food is involved. Right now they're both a little bit droopy because of the heat.

Thanks for sharing your cat stories. I need some silliness today, too.

My two cats are just napping, no antics from the girls right now. I miss my boy kitty (diabetic one that disappeared/died) and so the girls are getting fat from all the treats.

Did you name Psycho or did she come named from the shelter?

partlycloudy,
My cat listens to music. I found some old records that she listens to. They are by cats:
Rock Around the Clock-Bill Haley and the Tabbys
Runaround Sue- Dion and the Calicos
Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On- Jerry Lee Longhair
Joy to the World-Three cat night
Devil with the Blue Dress-Mitch Rider and the Detroit Hymalayans

Aren't pets cool?

My cat is like my furry child. He never fails to cheer me up, at least a little bit.

Does anyone else's cat react to bad weather coming? Mine cycles around the house like his tail is on fire!

I don't have cats, ummmm, my dogs would eat them.

We have a male and female that had puppies almost a year ago. My son was concerned that the dogs had puppies out of wedlock. So we held an engagement party for them. The wedding will be later this year.

It will be a huge event, even the press will be involved. The male will wear a bowtie and the female some sort of veil. They will be puffed and powdered beforehand. They will each receive a bronze bone disc that says their names and husband / wife.

We will have huge bones for them to eat and my son will be the bonebearer!

He paperwork said "Fluffy" but another name had been crossed out - the one she came in with. She was Psycho, and altho she IS fluffy, she answers to her real name.
I thought it was prophetic that we chose this cat.

My cat only listens to jazz. She squints her eyes and looks like she's really getting into it.... or having a good nap, I'm not sure.
(It sure is nice to have a fun thread today.)

"Psycho"? I should have thought of that when naming my cat. He definitly is crazy -- or possessed. The thing runs around at night howling at things the he supposedly "sees" or things that are "chasing him". Why do they do that anyway?

He's also been known to be very jealous of male visitors. He acts up whenever a guy sits near me. He usually isn't happy again until the guy leaves. Oh, and if he stays the night...forget sleeping. The cat jumps all over us and meows at very loud levels to ensure that we're miserable all night.

Cats.

My cat is the love of my life (with husband a close second :) Pumpkin is a chubby exotic shorthair whose butt is big enough that he is able to sit upright, with his back legs sticking out in front of him, while he cleans or watches TV. He sometimes sits like this for hours, then gets sleepy and literally nods off like an old man. He is priceless.

I think her middle name should be "Babble" to remind you of us! My little dog came from the spca too. when I let him out of his crate when I get home he totally ignores me and walks to the far corner of the room then turns around and charges full speed towards me and leaps into my arms for the welcome home love fest!

(he doesn't stay crated for more than a few hours at a time till he stops chewing every thing in sight I might add so I won't look like a mean dog mommy)
