Holy smokes, you guys are all so brave! I wouldn't invite any of these people to dinner. In fact, if I knew they were coming, I'd hide in the closet until they left.

So, I'm going to have dinner by myself, or with a few close friends. If it can be a virtual meal, then I'll happily invite all of you babblers. How about if I make lasagne and a nice salad, with brownies for dessert? Hope you can make it!

I've been mulling this one over.....

Four people......Hmmmmmm.

1. Arthur C. Clarke. He's the only author who has achieved a perhaps esoteric distinction. He has published works under each of the ten major divisions of the library-science Dewey Decimal System.

2. William Shakespeare. I don't think anybody has ever understood human nature so well.

3. Leonarda Da Vinci. Some of his ideas are so anachronistic (that word applies to all things out of time, not just old ideas brought forward), it is like he could see the future, but he also understood it. Besides, he sculpted David. And we have the same birthday.

4. The Buddha. I know there is a real name for this dude, but I'm dysnamic. I don't think I have to 'splain this one.

Wouldn't know what to feed them, though, so it would have to be a smorgasbord.

2. Doris Lessing the author of "Shikasta" a science fiction book about our planet
3. Martin L King...I was born on his birthday
4. Yogananda wonderful spiritual teacher

I don't know which fantasy to indulge: Journalistic, favorite writers, psychologists (maybe as a team they could help me!) or political women...

Barbara Walters, Oprah, Walter Cronkite, Bob Woodward

Louisa May Alcott, J.K. Rowling, J. R. R. Tolkien, Edward Eager

Irvin Yalom, D.W. Winnicott, Heinz Kohut, Annie Rogers (OK, I want my own therapist there too...)

Mary Todd Lincoln, Elenor Roosevelt, Jackie Kennedy, Madeleine Albright

This was fun! Good thread.

Oooh, your dinner would be so spiritual and deep. That would be quite an experience!
I still think the people who built either Stonehenge or the Pyramids would be cool. Who knows what secrets they would have? Same with an Alien.
