Why is Babble.....

Posted by SandyWeb on July 23, 2004, at 17:13:54

being infiltrated by such rude people lately? It doesn't matter what board you go to, it seems someone is trying to stir up trouble. I'm disappointed that our little world seems to be falling apart.

Sandy, there is just one single person who is being the disruptive post-er. You could say that he/she is fanning the flames wth many people. It's got me rather worked up. Last week I felt very hurt by what I was reading, and now I am just angry. There's more power in my anger than my pain. I am trying, though, not to get kicked off of this place, so if this sounds a bit convoluted, I'd be happy to email you an explanation.

did not mean to suggest people were "bad" on the boards...
i think your past posts could have been portrayed as being..."rude"..towards others..
can you not have a little compasion towards others in their time of hardship..and confusion?

Do you really think the poster in question is looking for support here? I haven't seen any evidence of it at all. Just many many barbs. And I DO think the posting name is significant.

Sorry to butt in, but maybe it's because the Psych board rucus has reverberated across to here, and to Admin too. But - you know what? - I'll let the lady answer for herself. I'm just very fiesty today and I'm not used to it! What's a feisty broad to do??

miss sandy....

i think it's because sometimes when you're crazy you just go nuts. and when you go nuts, you sometimes just become rude. i assure you, i'm not always rude. but, when it rains it pours dear. and if i'm one of the offending parties, i apologize. i've tried my best to only offend mr bob as he's tough and can take it. apparently i've failed at that as well. oh well, that's life. you win some, you lose some.

but, try to remember, this is a board for mental illness, not a board for talk of high tea and cucumber sandwhiches. sometiems we allow our own issues to distract us from the intended message, no? we forget that we may very well have been in that dark place ourselves, right?

Well, now I feel like crying. Sorry, guys.

I wasn't actually even referring to any of you. Just one of those times of feeling kind-of sad.

Gosh, but I get my feelings hurt too easily. But the kids are right behind me, and I will NOT do this.

Sorry again. Like I said, I wasn't even referring to any of the regulars. And I wasn't even criticizing. I was only making an observation...from when I first joined to now. The atmosphere just seems different.

Sorry. I don't have thick skin, and I got my darn feelings hurt. Ugh. Sorry, sorry, sorry. I didn't even know I was doing anything wrong.

Sorry if I hurt anyone. I really wasn't targeting anyone. *sigh* Guess I'm not good at relating to others.

Sandy

i didn't mean to suggest you were targeting me at all. i was giving my own personal reasons for my recent rudeness on the board hun. i didn't mean to hurt you honestly. and i think my words came out wrong. what i meant to say is that when i see what could be interpretted as rudeness here i see (most of the time unless i'm in a not so good place) as someone in a bad place. or not wording things in a great way maybe? or sometimes even humor (now, yes, sometimes i even laugh at posts directed at me then realize 'wait a minute, maybe that poster was serious. no, they ewren't. no, maybe they were. either way, i still think it was funny and i enjoyed laughing.' now mind you, i'm not laughing at the person, i'm jsut laughing and laughing is always a good thing dear.)

so, don't cry. i don't want you to cry. don't think of it as rudeness think of it as passion. think of it as humor. think of it as emotion. think of it as a release. think of it as an explosion. think of it as fury. but, never think of it as rudeness. ok dear. just don't cry. and that thick skin isn't all it's cracked up to be. too many people who have it don't know what it's like to bleed, and that's a shame. so maybe you should cry, but cry for those who have thick skin instead dear.

Hi Sandy,

I've been trying to keep out of the flames, so I've tried to avoid the latest round of what I will call babble rudeness.

Try not to let it get to you, you did nothing wrong, you just asked a simple question that has a complex answer.

Hi all,

I know I don't owe an explanation, but my reaction was too big for what the situation was. I just couldn't seem to stop crying last night. At the computer, in the washroom, even laying in bed. And when I woke this morning, this whole event was the first thought I had.

I think that I thought I was "just one of the girls." I don't post on as many threads as you all do, but I read a lot of them and I feel as though I know you all. You guys throw out comments, and that's exactly what I did....just an observation that was not intended as any sort of attack on anyone. It was just an after-thought that I had before I walked out the door to the grocery store.

When I later saw the responses, it hurt me soooo much. I think the reason for that is because it pointed out that I wasn't "just one of the girls." I felt so utterly rejected. Even now, as I write this, I can feel my eyes starting to well up. I don't have a lot to hang onto right now in my life, and I guess that's why the rejection just cut me to the core. I thought I was one of you, and so I let my guard down some and was posting. Time to protect myself again. It's just too dangerous for me right now.

Yes, I know all about the flame war out there now. And KK, I know that you are hurting and acting out of character from what we know of you. My comment had NOTHING to do with any of that. Believe me, I would be the last person to stick my nose into any type of situation like that. I would fall apart if I got slammed back.

I think maybe why I posted my little observation was because of Admin. I had sent a message a few days ago, just stating that we sometimes get so engrossed in our own problems that we can tend to not notice when another person is acting differently. I then asked if Dr. Bob was doing okay, because he seems to be involved less and less with Babble. I hoped he was doing well. And then someone named "Mister" posted a reply that I really didn't understand. My posting was just an innocent question, asking if Dr. Bob was okay. I think it just made me sigh when "Mister" made light of it. I don't know.

I'll keep myself to my threads now. I'm too unstable right now to handle rejection. Like I said, I can't seem to find a whole heck of a lot to keep me going.....and when I discovered that I wasn't "just one of the girls", I nearly caved in. Nope, I don't interact well with you guys obviously. That's a HUGE failure in my personality. It's safer just to stick to conversations about the weather and the time of day. And why do I still cry one day later?? *sigh*

Sorry, guys. Foot-in-mouth disease.

Sandy

Sandy Sweetheart.
don't be sad. you can say anything you want to me and i won't get mad at you. but as of yet i haven't seen you put down anyone except yourself. please be good to yourself.
there are always bad apples in life, just turn your head and walk the other way. come grab my hand and i'll cloak you tight. this is an incredible community and when we start to monitor expressing our feelings what is the difference between this board and real life?
i love this place because i can be sad, mad, hurt, happy, strong, and desperate as long as i am not malicious to others here.

i luv ya sweetie.
take care and wipe those tears and eat a fudge pop!

I haven't read all of the upsetting posts, but I suspect that what has happened is that a "troll" has joined babble. The best way to deal with a troll is to ignore them. It's difficult to do, but very necessary. Here is a link that discusses trolls in more detail:
