This is what babble has done for me.

Babble has given me all these friends. I am astounded that I feel that I know all of you. If I was crowned Mrs Canadian Living In America, I would have to thank you all individually. Just like this:

I would like to thank

Buckeye Fan
Camille Dumont
chemist
deirdrehbrt
Dinah
Emme
fallsfall
fayeroe
gabbix2

...and all the other people I may have forgotten, for letting me be myself when no one else wanted to know me. For helping me get through rotten days when you don't even know me. For pulling me out of the snake pit of my mind.

This place is wonderful, isn't it? Glad you have found some much needed support here, as have I!

Oh, I wasn't looking for any recognition, but thank you! I just want to let you know that awhile back I was sort of slipping into semi-hypochondria mode and feeling that my lingering sore throat was surely a sign of something VERY nefarious.

You were the first person to respond to me, to reassure me that sore throats are normal and many times hang around for awhile.

Honestly, that bit of reassurance I am positive stopped me from falling full force into another hypochondriacal episode. And those are AWFUL.

SO thank you!

Here she is....Mrs. Canadian Living in America! :D (nm) » partlycloudy

Ditto! When I discovered this place, I was amazed at the bond I felt instantly to *everyone*. No one understands my battle with depression like the people here. No one! This is a place where I can talk about hearing voices or freaking out over something stupid without feeling one trace of negativity in response. Its unbelievable. Just the fact that everyone tried so-o-o hard with fires is a testament to that. He has a bond with us whether he (or we) like it or not. We all share a common problem that is not looked on sympathetically by society. We have to fight just to stay alive while society thinks we're crazy or just trying to get attention. We all have hit a brick wall at some time or another, and we are all fighting to change that.

I think everybody here is a hero in one way or another. I wonder how many people would have a fraction of the strength I've witnessed here if they were in the same position.

We are all human and can and will make mistakes. But underneath it all we are all brothers and sisters challanging the way society regards mental illness, and no one can ever take that away from us.

-you know i've wondered this myself, especially those that scoff at people who are unemployed or getting disability due to mental illness. Boy talk about a stereotype there...if they only had ONE DAY to experience the emotions and struggles we have i'd like to see their opinions then.

Boy, TC you said a mouthful here! i could never say it better.
i love you chica! Long Live those with MI!!!!!

I feel the same way. It's like you and the other posters know me and understand me. And you don't hate me for it!
