I want...

Posted by Susan J on May 25, 2004, at 10:22:42

I want:

1. To never deal with depression again.
2. To have better skin.
3. To have a boyfriend.
4. To get a promotion at work.
5. To publish a book (that people read and like).

Think any of that will ever happen?

I don't know, where do you live? I'm in NC.

My pdoc keeps telling me she's had patients who were terribly ill for years who have achieved remission. So...we gotta keep hoping.

> 2. To have better skin.

Hmmm...I have good skin but terrible hair. Maybe we could combine your hair and my skin. :)

> 3. To have a boyfriend.

I'd say yes, it'll happen. You'd make someone a great partner!

> 5. To publish a book (that people read and like).

Ooh, I really like that one. Yeah, I know some people who've written books. I'd say sure, you can certainly do that.

Think I'll ever get a job and get a career going again? A husband? Home ownership? Kid? Dog? Cat? Reliable car? Picket fence? Clothes that fit? Lipstick/gloss that stays on? Am I asking the universe for too much? I'll settle for the lip products for today. ;)

I just posted you a long answer and it disappeared!

But thanks for the kind words, and I know you'll achieve your goals, too. I think we all get what we want, but for some, it seems to take longer....

And as for lip gloss, Almay's Whipped Gloss in Shear Raspberry. Love it. Stays put except when eating.

:-) Thinking of ya,

Susan

> 4. To get a promotion at work.
>>>>>Ditto. However, I'm quickly finding out that sometimes you have to look elsewhere when you're current company isn't offering promotions. If they really want to keep you, they'll offer you more to stay. It's a dangerous situation but unfortunatly some have to resort to this.

<<It's really not that bad, just seeing some lines now that I never had before. I just kind of long for that porcaline (sp?) skin look...no zits, no lines, no sundamage.

> >>>>>Yep, I'm with you here. They say that you'll meet the one when you least expect it. Maybe we just need to hang in there a little longer.
<<I've been dating a couple of really nice guys, I just don't feel that spark. Is it because they are too emotionally healthy for me, or because depression just makes me not too excited about *anything?*

Thanks for all the kinds words. I wrote it to Emme (but that post disappeared), but people here (including you!) seem so introspective, open-minded, and willing to see the good in flawed people. You guys are the best kind of people, and really great things should be happening for all of you. :-)
