Anyone else ever see the movie Crumb, about the graphic artist Robert Crumb? I watched it last week, and I cannot get him and his family out of my head.

Oh ... my ... gahud! It's bad enough when you have a song you can't get out of your head, but an entire DVD?! OUCH!

I have NOT. i DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THERE WAS A MOVIE ABOUT HIM!! Why can't you get it out of your head? I have seen american Splendor about Harvey Pekar and R. Crumb is in that. Are you into his art? Are you into art in general?

I loved American Splendor. I am into graphic arts - some comic book, sci fi book covers, childrens book illustrators, early 20th century poster art.
This Crumb movie (he's the Mr. Natural guy) was SO DISTURBING and the guy and his whole family ARE SO MESSED UP!
I could not find any redeeming qualities in the guy aside from his artistic ability.
You have to see it to believe it.

It was a disturbing movie to me. A severely dysfunctional family. Lots of hated towards women. The interviews with his brothers were painful to watch. I new of his art from the Mr. Natural comics and saw that as the 70's went on there was blatent hatred and racism portrayed in the art. I'm afraid that the movie gave a lot of insight into those aspects.
Yuck oh.

The guy had some problems.
For some reason I really didn't buy into his stuff. I am not always so fortunate.
Sorry it was so yuck for you.
I kind of appreciated seeing how he lived his life. I always hated his comics....for all the same reasons you didn't like the movie.
This is the end of the thread.
