Darlin', Darlin', Darlin'. Say it isn't so! A woman who posseses your beauty, wisdom, grace, charm and you're guzzling gin?!?! They use the same distillation process to make either gin or turpentine. I think I'd prefer the turpentine. If you absolutely must drink gin, mix it with tonic and lime and sip it while sitting out on the veranda. But Gin Martini's?!?!?
How to make a GREAT Matini:
Get a REALLY big Martini glass
pour 16 to 20 ounces(or half the bottle-whichever is more) of ice cold Stolichyna Vodka into REALLY big Martini glass
Gaze at its crystal clear beauty
Gently whisper the word "Vermouth" over the top of the REALLY big martini glass (I said WHISPER, loud mouth)
Add two giant stuffed green olives (speared on one of those fancy sword thingys)
Quickly and regrettably pour the entire concoction down the sink because your wife just walked into the kitchen and she gets really pis*ed off when you drink.

Wear your sexiest black (or red) dress. Put on your lipstick. Go to your nearest airport bar. Walk up to the gentleman with the wedding ring reading a book. Sit next to him. Casually ask him if he enjoyed the author's last novel (it helps if you are familiar with the author, good thing I read). And tell him you'd like nothing more than a martini before you head out of town. That's the best way to make a FREE martini I can think of..... Your idea may be more humorous, but mine has better results! Free drinks are much better than those thrown down the drain because your beautiful wife catches you in the act. BTW, frequent airports any? :) Have a great day kid. And don't go for the house gin either. Tanqueray all the way!

First of all...

You're a bass player??? (Stand-up bass as well? My old man used to have one but sold it. I'll never forgive him for that.) I've always had a thing for bass players. Something about their fingers. How do you get them to move so fast? Do you play banjo as well??? If you say yes, I'm thinking of deporting to Canada!

And about Canada.... My sister married a Canadian and I used to visit every year, at least. It's wonderful there. We always used to go around my birthday for the celebration, I thihk she called it a Freedom Festival, but I could be wrong.

And you read tarot cards? I have a set as well, however the tower somehow never appears. That's a good sign! My friend frequently reads mine for me, as she is much better at it than I am.

And Canada was the first place I saw Dill Pickle chips and Catsup chips as well. I'm glad they have the pickle ones in the states now.

Now, back to those fast fingers of yours...

Hi Karen_kay...wellll...hmmmm..thanks for the kind comments. :-). Fingers and bass playing..well my finger are very strong, and a little bit calloused, as they need to be and get that way after playing for years. I play an electric bass...a Fender Jazz to be exact. And yes..I play like a maniac..lots of jazz, going up and down scales, etc. (Gee..why would a woman like that, hmmm? lol ;-) I have a number of things I have played on, one with an old band of mine, but now I mostly do solo stuff, and have learnt a bit of guitars...keys..and *may* try at vocals...but that is a stretch..hehe. :-) I’ve also played on song covers...would you like me to cover a song? Name it...and I’ll see if I can produce it...likely without vocals, though. So, when can you be here??? :-P

Oh yes...and I am *addicted* to Dill Pickle chips...yum yum yum yum. Hear me eat one right now....*crunch*..:-)

P.S... I love younger gals too..don’t get me wrong..;-)

Hey jay,

You know, I never did like drummers. And guitar players seem cocky. There are exceptions to this rule of course. I've met some recently. But, bass players have the "fast fingers" and the head bob as well. Why is that? And they also seem to have the "foot stomp" going on too. I think I should have been a groupie. But, back to bass players. They're the more relaxed type.

Can you play anything by Primus?? They seem to always have pretty cool bass lines. I always liked Tommy the Cat. I'm always quoting that song, especially to strange men I meet on the street. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the song, but it works well for a pick up line. Not if you're romantic, but if you're a straight forward sort of person. And I'm about as straight forward as they come.

What's your sign by the way?

Well, I'm off to bed to have sweet dreams. I've not had a nightmare in a long time. Somehow they've up and disappeared on me. An angel took them away. Now, if only an angel could find me some boobs, I'd be set for life :)

And I must warn you, I'm only interested in older men. Did you mention how old you are? Oh, and how much money you make. And you do like martinis, right? Or at least know how to make one. And how to cook. I'll stop now, but look forward to more questions like this in the future...

Jai, you know, we love them too. Perhaps they'd be better if you stayed out. OR MAYBE.... They'd be even better if you poked your cute little head in every once in a while. Now, the most important question of the day. Do you have a better recipe for a gin (hear that kid, GIN) martini? Do get back to me, as I am always looking for suggestions on flirting, um I mean getting free drinks, um I mean getting wasted, um I mean making a good drink... Yes, that's what I mean, except I don't like to make them. So, type out that recipe and hand deliver it. I have a shaker and an apron, but of course I wear the apron. You can wear the boots and kid can watch the action, I meant shaking, um I meant.. Hmmmm you get the picture :)

Now, I'm certainly no brain surgeon (or rocket scientist if you prefer), but I do believe that at least in the distillation process with GIN (notice that I capitalize it now?) there are also juniper berries added. So, in drinking GIN daily, I also strive to reach my daily intake of my fruit requirement. Now, can you say that about vodka? Hmmm, didn't think so. And look at the country that's famous for vodka. It's cold. And dark. And gloomy. Just because you prefer women with an accent (I've got a country, twangy accent, BTW. Interested?), doesn't mean that you have to drink that wretched liquor. I suppose, on rare occasions, I can handle vodka (and you just can't imagine how I say vodka. If only you could see the squisssshhhhyyyy look on my face when I type it. I don't even bother to move my lips when I say the blasted word. It's through clenched teeth.) if you add tripe sec, lime juice, cranberry juice and put it in a cocktail glass. But, I think it would be better with GIN! Would it still be a cosmopolitan then? Hmmmm, I wonder. So, know any other good GIN drinks, other than the OLD, very old gin and tonic? I always drink GIN and tonic on flights. ALWAYS. (Last time though, they gave me some brand that I think was made in Idaho. Talk about a belly ache. I was upset, but I still am in love with GIN. He's still my favorite man.) (Oh, and I do have a very good Bloody Mary recipe as well. Is Jai ever coming over? My shaker is getting lonely) Waiting for those GIN recipes....

My husband was telling me that he had noticed we'd seen the final fortyfive minutes of The Mighty Wind three times, but haven't seen the whole thing even once. And guess what came on? You guessed it. The final fortyfive minutes of The Mighty Wind.

I at least hope they were the best fortyfive minutes.

I've been meaning to rent that forever. Are the final 45 minutes worth renting for? :)
