Oh The Anxiety!!

Posted by Ayla on October 24, 2003, at 18:41:33

Hi All, I have been having a rogh couple of days. I don't really think my zoloft is working and now I seem to have really developed depression.I was depressed to begin with but now it seems worse. I am hoping that raising my daily dosage will help as I am only on 50mg a day. I feel so guilty because here I am asking for support when I have'nt replied to anyone else in awhile. Is that really mean? I just have'nt really had the support to give lately or the energy to try. It's weird I used to see posts like this and not really know what it felt like but I'm glad that I always tried to help anyway because here I am in the same position. Also I am feeling the anxiety "butterflies" constanly again I don't even have to leave the house and that's how it got just before I got meds. then it kind of went away for a few weeks now it's back grrrrr I hate this feeling. Now don't worry it's not all that dire I am not suicidal or into hurting myself but I just feel yucky (to put it nicely). Well thanks for the vent. And to all that have posted recently in need of support, here it is and I hope you are all doing well. Thanks Again.
Ayla

Sorry for your rough times. It's ok to need support and not be able to give it. I know sometimes these meds take time to work - I know you probably know that, too. Feeling yucky for a while is sometimes how it goes, the storm before the calm. I hope soon, things will look better. If you need to post, do so. It usually makes me feel better that someone, somewhere, heard me and just wishes me better. It's a small thing, but that's what I'm sending to you. Anxiety symptoms are awful. If you don't see some improvement in the next little bit, contact your Dr., these things, drat it all, take time and sometimes a med change may be needed, too. Wish it wasn't that way.
Wishing you better days.
Kelly

Ayla,

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Be sure to keep in touch with your pdoc on all your medication ideas. He may also have some other insights.

Of COURSE you can post when you need help! Most people here seem to go up and down, but some are always up and some are always down. Don't count the words or posts that you give and get - you don't have to "earn" for people to post to you. Just do what works for you.

Hope you are smiling more than on Friday. Eat ice cream, swing on the swings at the playground, take a bubble bath with candles around, roll down a hill, pamper yourself, be good to yourself.

Keep in contact with people - make sure you see at least one person who matters a day (not the clerk in the store -a friend, neighbor, relative, coworker, someone who knows your name on sight) and talk to them for at least 3 minutes. Do this every day.

Be outside for at least 10 minutes a day (standing on your front steps with an umbrella counts, walking is better, going where there are people is also good)

Eat nutritiously. Get 7 - 9 hours sleep.

Post frequently.

It will get better.

You all are too sweet! That's why I love this site so much. I am feeling a bit better today and I may see if my doc. can give me a little something extra for the really tough days. Well I just wanted to say thanks for the support and the excellent advice. I hope you are all doing well! Thanks again. Ayla

You're most welcome

It's what this place is suppose to be all about. When it works that way, it's great and I know I've gotten some great support here. Glad you feel a little bit better.
