Oh, Kar, that is absolutely spot-on accurate. And funny. Yes, funny. I feel so much better about not getting my shit together to go now.

I had this whole idea about an installation, and I'd tell you about it, but it does involve DOLLS, lots of them. Then I realized ugh, I'd also have to get a shade structure, and a bike and a bike rack and a car cover and decorate everything and put together wardrobe for hot daytime and for cold nights, and food, water, etc etc etc, and a bag of barter stuff, gifts, sunscreen galore, and get the $225 ticket, and drive 14 hours to get there, set up camp, and oh my goodness, I think I'll just stay home this year. Now I feel one with all the other no-shows.

should I reveal the SECRET? OK I will. But you have to read a big non-paragraphed web page with blinding green background color and popups...

Only, to come back to see you have posted "Don't click that link!"

Why? What has happened to me Tabitha

A big warning sign said

"Attention there may be PORN on your computer"

Oh NO!!!
Whatever will I do?

I don't think that was what you were warning me about though.

I can't believe I went through my whole life without knowing about that movie.

Oh it did too.

I appreciate the fact that you had NO way of knowing though. GRRRRR... those things make me soo bloody mad.
A certain, person has been spamming me with porn ever since I blocked their personal email address, and of course I go through the 'remove me" block block, delete delete, process every morning.
Honestly, it is one of the reasons I've been so grouchy the last month, truly. Its brought up a lot of "stuff" which is exactly what it was intended to do.

But anyway with one of the emails when I press delete, and 'remove name" automatically opens up a whole bunch of new porn windows, and it just infuriates me. Oh yeah its illegal, but who's listening?

Sorry, a little tangent..

I recently found a solution to problems like this: a program called MailWasher which you can download from http://www.mailwasher.net/

It lets you preview all your new mail while it's still on the server, before downloading it to Outlook or another POP mail client. If you open a message before deciding that it's spam, it's opened as plain text so that Javascript pop-up windows, or HTML spy images to tell the sender that you've read it, don't work.

My favourite feature is the way it can bounce mail back to the sender with a (to me) convincing "Returned mail: User unknown" message apparently from your ISP's mailer-daemon, as if your account no longer exists, in the hope that the spammers will remove you from their mailing list. I haven't been using it long enough yet to find out if this really will reduce the amount of spam I receive.

I'm so sorry you've been going through such a bad time recently.

((((((Gabbi))))))

It's great news that your friend is moving to the town in which you live :)

Jonathan.

ok gab---check this out;)
Adrian Thank you for using MSN Interactive Online Support, Derek. My name is Adrian, I will be your Online Technical Support Engineer.
Adrian Hello, Derek. I would be glad to provide you with the required information on emails.
Adrian To assist you more effectively, can you please let me know if you are an MSN Internet Access subscriber? If yes, can you please provide me with your @MSN email address?
Derek I am not, I am having problems with mail delivery failure emails that MSN keeps repeatedly sending me erroneously.
Adrian Can you let me know which emails that you are referring to and if the emails are sent by you?
Derek We have a email list with 1500 people. Last week we sent out the list as normal, but we keep getting the same email back from postmaster@hotmail.msn.com that three addresses couldn't be delivered to. We get this four times a day. It's rather annoying.
Adrian Can you provide me with the three email addresses that you are facing an issue with?
Derek This isn't about the users, as the email we are getting is referencing the same initial email we sent. You have a mail loop of some sort, or a misconfiguration of your mail servers.
Adrian No problem. In order to resolve the issue that you have been facing, I need you to forward the emails to our abuse department at abuse@msn.com.
Adrian So that the accounts can be checked at the server end.
Derek Ummm, I already know that the accounts no longer exist, since they bounced. Is there another way to do this? I've sent mail to your abuse@ blackhole of nothingness before with no results.
Adrian You need to forward the emails to the abuse department, so that we can verify the emails at the server end and check for errors.
Adrian We regret the inconvenience this may have caused to you.
Derek Since the note came from postmaster@hotmail.msn.com, I already sent it to abuse@hotmail.com, is that different than abuse@msn.com? I've heard nothing back.
Adrian This e-mail address is for reporting purposes only and does not send replies.
Derek What I'm saying is that nothing has been done about it.
Adrian If the email address that you are receiving the undeliverable email was @msn.com, you need to forward the email to abuse@msn.com.
Derek Uggghhh. Goodbye.
Adrian May I help you with anything else regarding this issue?
Derek Do you really like Microsoft? I'm just curious. They make me itch.
Adrian Yes. It is the best. Here at MSN, our goal is to deliver the best products and services to help users make the most out of the time that they spend online.
Derek Soylent Green is people...
Adrian Derek, I hope that you have found our session today helpful on emails. We are available 24 hours a day and are always glad to help. For your convenience and future reference, your ticket number is "XXXXXXXX", and you will receive by e-mail a detailed transcript of our chat. There may be peace on the horizon?
thank you! I've never heard of it, and I'm definitely going to try it.
Its just not a pleasant way to start every morning.
Thank you so much for letting me know about it.
(You know there just aren't enough good ways to say thank you, it just sounds so trite after a while)
