I am sick of feeling sick

Posted by Dinah on July 18, 2003, at 8:54:04

Came home with a migraine yesterday, and just got over that when my IBS took over.

I have a therapist appt and since both conditions are still acting up, I've got to figure out how much of what to take so that I can drag myself in.

It's no wonder I get no work done.

I think that people should have either mental issues or physical issues but not both at once.

I hope that your therapy is comforting and rejuvenating.

If not, eat ice cream and here's a hug from me (((((Dinah))))).

Thanks. :) I think my therapy will be good for me. As long as I don't need to use one of the big shiny restrooms in that big shiny building on that big shiny street.

I think I may still have some moving issues. :))

Yep - I feel physically ill much of the time too. Almost daily headaches, occasional migraines, upset stomach and nausea, achy, and so on. But, of course, they don't know what's wrong with me.

Sorry you feel bad.

Gee, you think you still have moving issues?

Don't drink anything for 3 hours before you go to your appointment. That's what my mother would say.

I understand your feelings, when ever my emotions let go for a bit, I remember that physically I am sick.

My mom said to open a bottle of coke and leave it on the counter for an hour. The acid in the coke calms your stomach and after an hour the carbination should be gone.

Have you ever taken a perscription for your stomach?

Ugh, IBS stuff is the worst. I only say that because I don't know firsthand what migraines are like, I'm sure they're awful as well.

I went several years (!) with my abdomen bloating up terribly every time I ate, and new surprises each day in elimination... like goldilocks of the bowels, it was either too soft or too hard... never just right. The whole situation has improved tremendously since I stopped drinking milk AND started eating a carton of plain yogurt every day. Now I can even tolerate cheese and ice cream again! Go, acidophilus, go!

ROFL. You are obviously a comrade in arms, Tabitha. I actually started eating yogurt, but since I really really hate it, I only eat the whipped flavored kind that is more air than yogurt. Obviously not enough acidophilus there. I remember with my enormous dog with GI problems that they sold it in little packets of the stuff. Maybe I'll look for some of that.

I took the medication my doctor gave me, because that was the only way I could leave my house to make my therapy appointment. However, those medications just set up another round of the problem. Sigh.

I'm really really going to try the nortryptaline, which should fix the problem if I can tolerate it.

Do they think it's a somatic thing? I thought so about my problems, but my pdoc surprised me by disagreeing. He thinks my physical problems might have a similar cause as my emotional ones, but aren't caused by my emotional problems. Go figure.

I'm so sorry Slinky. It seems that for every up, there's a down right behind it. I hate that roller coaster.

Here's a hope for that miracle drug, or something very close. Is it ok to pray for more psych drug funding?
